First, you become aware of the interface and tools of the app. Then start with easy drawings which contains easy shading like only shadows and outline and a little bit highlight. Don't start with hard drawings e.g flat illustration. There are so many tutorials you can start with. I can give you hint and some instructions if you allow me. I have the same problem, it would be helpful if you would include this in de video. Edit: I figured it out watching your other video! For people with the same problem, there is a brush called solid fill, thats the one you need, not the tool in the upper left hand corner!

Try solid fill brush + circle tool Instead of of solid fill brush+ ellipse tool

Once you click the check mark, It's no more editable. But if you need slight variation you can use wrap or distort tool to modify them.
