INFJ Life Coach Lesson: Today we're talking about INFJ careers that make money or how I like to call it the 100K INFJ. So before I started doing Coaching and RU-vid fulltime, I used to be in the consulting world. I was a consultant in the banking industry in Europe and I was making around $100K before I quit my job two years ago and started doing this full time. And now last month I had my first $10K month. So I'm excited about it. I'm proud of myself that I pushed through and that I surpassed an average month in consulting. So I have experience with careers in the corporate world as well as creating my own business. And I believe if I can do it, you can do it. Because as INFJs we have very particular challenges but also advantages and we're not using them. We're not saying: This is what I can do, what others can't, so let me use this the best way possible. I'm going to show you how to utilize your gift, create great money, and do it with integrity.

Wenzes for the first time I had exact the same thing 2 years ago when swapping jobs and doing exactly the same! Projects that couldn’t started in 8 years I performed in 3 months but I couldn’t express in a brief way my accomplishments 😂 thank you very much for the valuable tips!

I’m 23, and have worked various machine shop/automotive maintenance jobs since graduation of high school. Learned a lot brutally and helped me to grow up quick, never have made more than $16/hr, no degree, no debt. Currently doing maintenance for local government and on paper it’s the perfect job for me, but I’d like to make more money and have more job fulfillment. The small tasks give fulfillment, but at the cost of high stress and performance paranoia, constantly being watched and analyzed. I’ve always been interested in agriculture and cars, but I have no formal education and I’m not a natural mechanic, it’s a forced behavior. Would love to use my skills and natural talents to move into a career making around $20-$25/hr.

I have an eclectic view for society and concrete plans to achieve them. I have written a document of 300 pages for it and sent it to an institute. They were happy to have it but there was no budget to do something with it. So, I was quite disappointed. Now I'm starting as a person in a callcenter and really distaste it, even in a way it infects my mental and physical well-being: this is not the way to go. I want to escape, but I don't see other options. I'm drowning, it feels.

I relate to that, too. I stayed at a small company that really benefited from having me streamline their processes and even redecorate all of the offices in my department. It didn't pay as much as I should have been making, but there was a pond outside my desk window and I got to wear a lot of hats (admin asst to the VP, department supervisor, HR, art department, den mother/unofficial counselor, etc). The quality of life was a trade off because I wasn't motivated by money but I need to work on that because filthy lucre is a vehicle to propel my art projects.

As an INFJ, I cared more about having a fullfilling job without loads of overtime. I sacrificed lots of money to be at home with my kiddos more. I got to know that I'm an INFJ-T just 2 years ago and I suddenly started feeling seen and understood, atleast by people of my own clan. That atleast I'm not the only one who's been going through all of this, that everything that I'm or everything that's been happening to me is totally normal. I feel validated. Feeling leftout, striking in of depression and anxiety whenever I'm pulled into any drama caused by others, not having much friends, not enjoying crowded places or enjoying my own company, Having unexplainable visions, feeling like something wrong is gonna happen before I go out and then feeling like I shouldn't go out, Having nightmares/visions before anything wrong happens. With time, I'm trying to cope up and getting to know myself more and more with each passing day. I wanted to be a doctor but suddenly felt like not doing it anymore. I want to be a professor and contribute my fair share in making the society a little better place to live, by educating the upcoming generations about the changes that we go through, about how knowing about our personality types can actually make a big difference and atleast put a coma to our sufferings if not a full stop. We can do anything if we join hands and accept ourselves completely. I'm 21 y/o and I'm from India. Mental health in India is a taboo and I want to change that perspective first and entering the education field will help me do so. I want everyone to feel seen and to not feel leftout. If not anything then this!

Don't always examine yourself like that. Us INFJs do tend to fall back on the "what's wrong with me?" You might feel like the square peg in the round hole at work, but have you ever thought of it from the perspective that they're the square pegs? I don't know specifically what's making you unhappy at work, but it is more than likely that the people who work alongside you value your hard work but don't take the time to get to know you. Speaking from experience here- at my last job I felt like I didn't fit in. The best thing I ever did was quit and land a new job where I do feel secure and appreciated. Don't always think your the one at fault. :) good luck with your career journey buddy

ive been in management since 2012. I'm not a huge fan of it, but it pays the bills. My boss wanted to promote me to something even higher because I am good at what I do. BUT during our developement plan he wanted me to develop my "leadership" skills by being more high energy and talk more. I said "alright, gotta stop ya right there. I've done the leadership classes and honestly they're mostly teaching you manipulation techniques and I'm not about that. I'm not going to be high energy nor will I be a gossiping drama queen. I have two ears and one mouth for a reason. I listen because our employees have people talking at them all day long, few listen to them. That's why I'm effective. Putting on the show of being a stereotypical leader doesn't work for me because its not sustainable long term". The look on his face was priceless. He just doesn't get it. Unfortunately for me, ppl in management tend to be narcissistic types and I'm just not like that. They mistaken introversion for social anxiety which are totally different.

28 and I stretched myself so thin, giving my all and doing everything employers asked of me, I worked really hard and long hours, then lost my job in October because the owner decided to hit the breaks due to the pandemic, and concentrate on a different branch of the business. I did everything at that job, from cleaning to counseling to website management and so on. Now I am depressed because it seems that most employers don't even listen to what I say during interviews (among other things) and even situations where they understood the exact opposite of what I've said (i.e. I said I want my next job to be where I spend at least the next 5 years so I can grow and develop myself with and within the company, then I was told that they don't want me because they want someone who wants to be with them long term). Your video gives me a bit of hope. Now I just need to find a job and a way out of the depressive episode. I really want to do more, to grow, learn, teach and counsel within a company (or school/uni/ngo), but it feels like no one wants to give me a chance. Sorry for the long comment, I needed to get this out of my system.

Companies and jobs will use you. The more you do the more they take. Chalk it up as a lesson well learned and never do it again. It is smarter to not be exceptional but to be a networker and a schmoozer - which we INFJs as social chameleons can do. But only ever give your all like you did in that job to yourself. They didn't appreciate you, none of them will. They're work. You're always a step away from being replaced. It is a hard lesson, but I hope you take that energy to build yourself up and flourish. Take care!

This was soo empowering! Just finishing business school now, I’ve often doubted myself and lost my confidence when people are implying or directly telling me that I need to be willing to sacrifice my health and personal life in order to have a successful corporate career, but at the same time I also DID bring a lot of value to my internships and apprenticeships (and people recognize that!), just not in the sense that I could regularly work a ton of overtime without quickly burning out. I realised with this video that I DO know my value deep down and just need to find the right fit for me and be confident in my own value even though it’s not the same as other people’s 🥰

I've read somewhere INFJ doesn't really relate with shyness or anxiety, both of it is cause by an individual past experiences. Social interaction is a skill that we can develop or learn. Not all extrovert is socially confident, some extroverted is also have shyness and anxiety like us. It depends on us how to control or delete that type of habit. Sorry if my compliments seems harsh.

@violyss9274
@violyss9274 3 года назад
@Mint While I understand why this is what you believe, I would think about what it means to imply that x-type doesn’t relate to y-mental illness. Any individual of any type can suffer from mental illness. Myers Briggs is a type theory not a trait theory (one example of a trait theory is the Big 5). As such, it cannot really tell you anything about how gregarious or how reserved a person will be. If this individual is an INFJ who suffers from fear related to people and anxiety, then there is an INFJ who does relate to shyness and anxiety. @Brian Sometimes the skill of being hyper-aware of social dynamics and psychology can backfire and become very overwhelming. It’s okay not to have perfect social interactions with people. You don’t have to help everyone and sometimes just being there for your close friends and family is enough to be a great help. Even focusing on yourself for a while and taking small steps to ease your anxiety will help a lot in the long run - both in your personal and work lives. There are a lot of resources out there for advice on managing anxiety.
@mortal3115
@mortal3115 3 года назад
@@violyss9274 I understand and i am aware that Myers Briggs and Big 5 is just a trait theory and mental illness is a realistic diseases. But what i am trying to explain is Introversion is a person who is recharge with solitude on our own imaginary world and Extroversion is a person who is recharge by collecting other's social interactional thought. For clearer thought of mine is take an example an old man. Do ALL old people has been diagnosed having a serious disease.? Obviously not, but do majority of old people has been diagnosed having a serious disease.? Based on global statistic, the answer is yes. Get it.? Not ALL Introvert has anxiety or shyness, no. As you nay know Elon Musk, Nelson Mandela, and Simon Sinek all of them is Introvert that doesn't have an anxiety. But do many of Introvert has shyness or social anxiety based on global statistic.? Ofcourse yes, but it is not said that mental ilnesses is a part of Introvert or INFJ Identity (atleast yet), what I am trying to say is ALL mental illnesses has a solution to get rid of it, mental ilnesses is a diseases and disease has their own specific way to heal from it. I also understand that not ALL diseases have a solution to get heal with it, but I also aware that shyness and anxiety is not a chronic disease, it can be heal. On of the tip to recover from it is: "FEAR = Feeling Excited And Ready" I used it to against my negative thought whenever I feel anxiety. It is maybe seems childish but atleast it is worked for me, an Introvert with shit childhood.

Growing up in a really competitive environment since I was small forced me to do better just like everyone else and everytime when I'm really struggling I would feel disappointed in myself. But you really thought me that I do not have to compare myself with others. I don't have to be insecure with other people's ability where I just can't do it like them, to hate myself why I'm so slow at learning things, to be frustrated when others can catch up a lot faster than me. I just have to observe myself and keep improving myself with my own pace and keep being patient on my personal growth. To believe that I do have a worth just as everyone else and I just have to find that in order to bring it up on the table when it's needed. Thank you so much for this wisdom, really appreciate it.

I have a hard time presenting my value in interviews with bigger organizations. A lot of them expected me to answer ridiculously detailed questions on the spot and my head just doesn't think in detail. I needed this today. I work in a media company in the sphere of Content. I didn't enjoy content creation as much and quickly realised that I needed to get promoted to a manager role ASAP. As time passed, I began to understand the difficulties Content Managers have when it comes to planning, organising and executing, and so started working on RPA (Robotic Process Automation) systems that can help my team members do their jobs more effectively and efficiently. A few months ago, my systems caught the eye of my Regional VP and now I am full-time building these systems to help the team's performance. The issue I am having now is burnout. What used to be a side project to help me do my work better is now in demand and expectations are high. You are a blessing for all INFJ who are feeling lost. Normally, we tend to underestimate ourselves because we compare ourselves to sensors who are good at details. We don't have the opportunity to showcase our strongest points such as planning, solving complex problems, and creating systems. And we don't have the proof to show people. So, it really requires confidence first.

@@rwzmaf894 37 year old INFJ in IT here and hoping to shed some light. I enjoy the problem solving of IT and the fact that bosses tend to leave you alone to do your own thing. BUT, the beginning stages of IT usually is help desk where you receive phone calls and tickets and are constantly on the phone with people solving issues. It's NOT very good for the INFJ but it can be great in that as long as you keep in mind that you won't be doing it forever, it's a much needed skill for infj's that we wouldn't learn if we weren't "Forced." Personally, I'm now much more interested in my own businesses but IT gives me a career to fall back on so I'm able to do it while my businesses grow. I guess my main advice (and advice I'd tell my younger self if I did things over) would be, if you're already in IT, INFJ's definitely have the capacity to do it, and you should go for it, then work on the thing you'd RATHER do on the side. If you're like me, you'll NEVER be happy in a regular career anyways no matter what you pick, so pick a career to pay your bills, then work on having 4-5 income streams that you enjoy on the side until you make at least double what you're making in your career. Hope this helps!

I'm starting to transform mine as well after years of depression with the responsibilities on my shoulders. I just got consolidated recently and decided to sincerely prioritize myself from now on. I wish you my best for your growth and looking forward to the next part! Will you have a chance to talk about investing in financial assets from the perspective of INFJ in the future? Lately, I'm trying to educate myself about this and found out that actually, our cognitive functions could help a lot if we would like to grow as an investor or a venture capital. We just need to connect the dots existing.

I just realized my personal type was INFJ. I tend to help but end up to be betray. If I tend to let it be, sometimes I got trapped. To be precise, I prefer to trust my instinct & self intuition. If I achieve my financial target, I got lost what to do to make the rite things that anything make things better. In my reason I feel better if I'm sharing my achievements, but sometimes other would says " not yet grow up " , " waster " , then I realised I shud decided to believe my ability , I can turn day to night, night to day . And to be clear, the purposes of INFJ lived in this world is " Pretend To Be Poor & Lay Low ". If you didn't liked criticism for INFJ , then show them like u re not doing anything. PEOPLE SAY YOU LAZY PEOPLE WILL SAYS OVER CONFIDENTIAL PEOPLE SAY YOU ARE LOSER DIDNT SEEK FOR JOBS. This are the typical situation where INFJ will be faced. So the solutions is : Care about yourself. Don't seek attention by Sacrificing your value and ability as well as pride. You will get the answer those who come without our attention mean that the one to be faith with.

I'm an INFJ-A and I found I quite good at advertising. At work, I was assigned in production (digital art) and already doing it well. After a year's worth of company attempts to breach into facebook ads ( this was 10 years ago), I quickly put together a video with my own vision. It turned the account from bleeding money everywhere to bringing in $10,000 / day. It ran continuously for four years and the ones who later bought the company ran it again. But because the back-end weren't the same people, it slowly faded away. I confirm that this isn't an abuse to get ahead; these are the skills we're naturally equipped with - bring order to chaos.
@Rodiyath
@Rodiyath 2 года назад
Wow.. I can relate to this video on so many levels like what the hell. Since I started my career in finance I always had this long term goal that I want to retire from the corporate world by the time I turn 50 so that I can actually do people oriented jobs like working in an charity and discover myself through art. And I thought of using my corporate job to get there by earning money and investing it so that I can retire faster. But I kept struggling with the fact that my job wasn't meaningful nor added anything to society and I kept questioning myself. Also my bosses used to compare me with other colleagues saying that I lacked those detail oriented skills. I thought a lot about quitting and getting into psychology to help people or becoming a coach. Until I got hired in my new company. In this company I can really connect to my bosses and I can see my manager wants to see me win. She sees potential in me and wants me to develop. They are not scared to give me responsabilities saying that I had both technical skills and interpersonal skills. That I can put myself in other people's shoes and make them comfortable. And now I am working on projects where I create systems and procedures taking into account information from all of our departments. And to my surprise I am actually good at this and I love working on these complex subjects. I thought I lacked a lot of these corporate skills but they saw my potential and even though I still want to get into a people oriented job I love what I am doing right now. In the end I know that once I feel like I've reached my limits there I will quit this job. Because I want to keep growing and get close to my goals. I believe that what INFJs want in the end is to feel valued and to help others and we can do that in so many settings without having to compromise ourselves. You're brilliant Wenzes ;)

OMG - I am so inspired by you! I studied Acturial Science (Math nerd) and ended up climbing corporate ladder for 15 years in asset management. Portfolio management, coding and derivatives 😁 I was NOT detail-oriented so I was terrible with admin and trade processing but as soon as an unfamiliar problem came about I would somehow come up with coherent solutions and everyone - including me - would be like "where did that come from?" I also realised I was excellent with originating quantitative/economic research (although I would need to rely on more diligent colleagues to push me for the parts requiring significant data collection/pre-processing) Now as I grow my business, I am realising that corporate clients actually value my out-of-the-box solutions more than I ever gave myself credit for in the past. It's been a long road. I still enjoy finance /derivatives so I am sure I will always remain in the industry but I nurture my interests in psychology, astrology, spirituality and general self-development very intentionally in my spare time. Being in nature heals me and I do my best work alone. I am also strict about not being pulled back into the rat race again. It was not a happy place for me!
