I'm an INFJ and my best friend is an ENTP. I always admired how he is able to walk through life and express himself so freely without really caring what other people think of him. It's like a super power I wish I had. I remember when we first met. We were in college and I was sitting at a table with him and 4 other people and one of them said a joke and everybody laughed. I thought it was funny, but I kinda just smiled and looked down at the desk in front of me. The guy who told the joke pointed at me and said "You need to lighten up and laugh more!" The table went quiet and before I could respond. The ENTP said "Nah, he thought it was funny, he's just a laugh on the inside kind of person!" I was floored! This guy (having only known me for a couple days) was able to come up with such an articulate and dead on truth about who I was. He's one of the only people who I feel really got me.

Im an ENTP and my best friend's an INFJ. I've always been drawn to her amazing, caring attitude towards other people. She went through some shit in the past, and I can tell she's still a bit messed up by it. No one else seems to notice it and it seems like she ignores in order to put people above herself. I see what's going on and I try to put as much sympathy(even though Im not to good at that) as I can to help her. I also give her a crap ton of logical analytical solutions. It's strange, because somehow, Im the only one that seems to willingly take her back down to earth. As for myself, she seems to have given me a reason to actually care for someone, deeply, in my non emotional life. She has inspired to take care of others in their time of need and Im really thankful that shes in my life.

How to deal with an ENTP: Don't panic. Don't run away. Your only hope is to play dead.

Very true... we ENTP's truely, really, absolutely *require* honesty. On feelings, emotions, everyting. Full and complete honesty, far more then other types do.. because we have a strong need to understand and then we can empathize. And then we can empathize very deeply. And yes, we are incompatible with xSFJ's.. there is no room for continual growth with them. It just gets stuck at a for ENTPs very unsatisfying point.

Im entp and i never had a serious relationship, all of them seem boring and meaningless so i ditched them because i couldnt force myself to pretend being someone else, then i meet a woman at my 24s and damn we were like made for each other, i knew before i was entp, but after a month or so i made her do the test, she was INFJ and then i laughed so hard because i really knew all along she one infj i even joked just before she ended the test remember you are infj

I have a very hard time with relationships because I am an ENTP. No one is prepared to date us. I've had so many say that I'm too truthful and I seem cold. I don't express emotion like everyone else. My independence hinders me. I always tell someone before they get too involved that this is me and I'm not changing that. Not only in love, in work as well. I'm an unconventional thinker, people don't like that.

I like that you say look if you're upset with an entp, just tell them.Because if you are not, we can see it, maybe not exactly what is bugging you but we notice things very strongly, and if you don't tell us why you are upset with us we ned to guess , or feel sort of "lied to".Whilst, if you tell us exactly you said this, that made me feel like that, because of this reason,it might sting, but we can analyse and if we like you chances are very big we will try to improve that behaviour

"He's not an INFJ, he can't have that intution of my feelings and of how my emotional state is" I'm an ENTP (right down to the functions), and what most of my close friends value about me is that I can tell them their exact emotional states with one glance. And often phrase it better than they could. An INFJ I'd known at one point was uncomfortable with how well I read her; saying stuff about her before she figured it out herself. Empathy and theory of mind are basic human qualities; the potential determination to develop them being dependent on the individual.

INFJ here. It seems like there's a target on my back for ENTPs to get under my skin in the worst way.

As an ENTP , I want to see people happy while pushing all their buttons. At same time I am thinking about all bad thi gs about world and how life of everyone is meaningless. So yeah we are contradictions.

My entp friend can tell I’m upset but he’ll be like “I can wait all day you have to talk I’m not letting this slide” even though I get a lil intimidated but I appreciate how he wants me to be direct and so I say what I gotta say, it’s still a bit difficult to open up quickly especially to a guy I just got used to hiding my emotions since I’ve been shamed for being sensitive since the day I was born

I have an ENTP friend. One thing that helps us connect is working on ideas. He helps me with my art and my writing. His Ne sees things that my Ni may have missed. Combine that together and it creates a stronger idea and a fun project we can both work on.

As an entp I gotta say that is not that we don't get people's feeling, sometimes we just don't really care about it(I know that's not something good) and also one thing that take us out of our serious state is any type of emotional bribery. Hope you guys get to understand that we are not only walls of logic, we just think is easier to us and everybody around to hide our own feelings.

In a non parent-child relationship, my experience dating an ENTP woman (why are they so rare too, bunmer?) a better compatibility than other women I've dated. Metaphorically, it's like (ok simile) we oscillated between her being a three month old Golden Retriever puppy (attention span of a happy puppy) and me being a little innocence kitten traveling on adventures together getting into things/trouble for fun (think Disney cartoon style), following her around the town to oscillating when we are in our mature state, her acting like a cat (cool and sexy) to me being a wolf (exploring on my own my new surrounding, putting on a narcissistic veneer, keeping an eye on her so she's safe, but once approached my INFJ Fe kicks in and leaving people with a friendly and profound impression). I've also noticed that we liked the same things but for different reasons, hers was logic and mine was abstract. For example, she admired the mechanics and craftsmanship of an artwork and I like the energy of the artists, and hidden meaning that they put into their artwork which is reflected back to the viewers. She (ENTP) used her extroverted intuition to cover more ground, while deeply interested in my deciphering on the spot the hidden meanings and symbolism of an artwork (music, paintings, theater plays, movies, architect, etc). She could easily energize me with her extroverted fun, and take my out of my bubble because I love exploring and she loved pulling out hidden gems from around the city to go see. She was disorganized, all over the place with a million and one projects and I helped her laser focus on projects until completion. I like tomboys because their easier to get along with, but behind closed doors, her feminine charms went thru the roof. Not sure if all ENTP women are like that, but definitely can entice the dark side of an INFJ since we are into pleasing others. What's cool about being around the most introverted of the extroverts is there's no static or interference coming from her presence when we just chilled out together, no slow trickle of energy drain. I understood her devil advocate style of debating, while others thought she was argumentative, I enjoyed her ability to shine a new insight that to me was out of the blue profound. My only gripe is I believe an ENTP follows their head while an INFJ mostly follows our hearts, I think ENTPs makes decisions based on their logic, but a few months later their heart finally catches up, and they regret making rash decisions, unfortunately for them, the INFJ door slam and being future oriented thinkers, we hardly look back. It's why, now I'm very curious about ENFP women, that "F" cognitive function seems like a deeper dive with a closer emotional intimacy, combined with that extroverted fun of an ENTP. The biggest growth spurt I ever had with someone was with an ENTP girlfriend, she also improved my social intelligence, social confidence, and expanded out my INFJ's bubble and comfort zone to encompass more territory in Los Angeles, that I can now roam in alone or I can bring someone I like to those cool and exciting places that my ex-ENTP found.

i’m an infj- husband of 11yrs os ENTP omg the struggle but it’s ok but the need to be liked, while bringing attention to us when we’re in public- ugh i literally cannot. I have to just carve out time alone because it’s always “like me like me- listen to why I’m right- see? now like me.” On top of every time in public having to do something loud to demonstrate likability for external approval- I can only be around it for so long before wanting to hide in a cave.

As an ENTP, I was happy to give you your 500th like on this video. haha I have a hypothesis that many unhealthy ENTPs become as such because we are prone to Nihilism. Perhaps this stems from a lack of spiritual grounding, or principals. I think a lot of us determine that if no spiritual aspect is real, and nothing matters, then screw it (Nihilism). We base everything off logic and science, yet perceive that spirituality is incompatible with science. I found solace through stoicism and the Baha'i faith as one of its primary teachings is the necessary unity of science with true religion. Just a random Ne-induced thought.

I'm an INFJ and I just got out of a relationship (brief one) with an ENTP. I was really hurt by this bc I liked him bc he was very unique and I felt a strong chemistry with him. But he was somewhat of an unhealthy ENTP he loved to argue with me, and would try to control me, he Was also manipulative very much. So we had to part ways. INFJ's don't like conflict or arguing so it was hard at times. But I really did like him and wanted it to work... But it didn't..

hello, when i clicked the video i first tought you wanted to show yourself as an infj because those people aren't much in society. when i continue to listen i felt like you were doing my speech :) the things that go back and forth in my brain. it helped a lot about feeling understood but still i dont think my father is a good person and he likes to cause suffering in other people. Actually you know that you sometimes even read other's brain. he is a bad person...

my girlfriend is ENFJ and I am ENTP we have a nice relationship, unfortunate she is moving away...time to move on i guess!

we don't have strong opinions as an entp. but we vocalize it loudly. lol my opinions are trading cards. i like to collect em', trade em, sell em', throw em' out. it's a game. i'll throw down with ya, and i might even cry a lil' if you tear my favorite card in half...but i'll get a better one later. and yes, tell us how you feel. i get you might be sad and upset, but we are movers and shakers. you gotta let us know it's REALLY got you upset. Otherwise it's just a, 'yea, that is pretty upsetting...like this one time ...' We still think it's a fun conversation if we're in a groove. You gotta not take that personally.

We have no need to feel loved, we seek truth. That’s it. Freedom of speech and tolerance to an open mind is what we need. If you show that you are controlled by feelings rather than logic, we can accept that but we will not have discussions after that. What is the point? The best match for an ENTP is probably another ENTP.

I found out that I'm an INFJ after struggling for years if I was INFP or INFJ. I'm an INFJ, I feel like I'm a protector.

I’ve never even met an ENTP and that makes me kinda sad. I have a well developed Ti for an INFJ and in recent years have learned to be forthcoming with my needs/desires. Does anybody ever get that feeling that they were supposed to meet someone but didn’t?

I am a fenal entp. Most people think I am cold and don't care other people's feelings. Actually, I am just strugg with feelings a lot.

For me as INFJ a relationship with an ENTP, was the worst thing that could ever happen. Okay, she was a narcissist on top, but her with a 90% perceiving way and me with a 90% judgemental trait ended in permanent lies. My knowledge about her feelings and exactly, what you said, that I should explain myself, was ignored and not beliefed, she did not understood, why I knew everything...

Informative and authentic. I wish I had known more about this when I first moved to the Texas-Mexican border. I worked for an organization headed up by a guy who I think was an ENFP. However, this is useful for the present time. as always, I enjoyed this video, and even though my own father is not an ESTP, I remember what it was like having to relate to him. I think that my father's temperament is more like mine, although he has never taken the Myers Briggs test. Actually, we have seen things a lot the same way, and the extrovert was my mother. Some of the complications that she and I had while I was growing up resembled some of what you talked about with your Dad. "Just like it only different." However, I would probably describe my mother is more of an ENFJ. As we got older, we were able to iron out a lot of differences. Nice video! I enjoyed it.

Are most ENTPs really goofy?

The painful thing about Ni- dom talking to a Ne- dom is that Ne- people perceive us, Ni as arrogant. Like, saying you're "absolutely sure" of something triggers them as prideful, because HOW THE HELL can you be absolutely sure of anything if there are so many options and angles you can look at the problem from? I love talking to my ENTP friend, really. He takes his time thinking things through and allows me to think, too. But I often feel misunderstood and it hurts me being judged as proud just because my brain works in a different way, a way he perceives as arrogant. I'm not sure how to deal with this. It's stuck in my brain and I've been thinking about the nature of pride itself in order to evaluate whether it's objectively true or not, but since NOBODY is objective and we shape reality in our brains based on our own impressions, it's hard to tell at all. What I know for sure is that I've been working on open- mindedness, I try not to judge, genuinely listen to the other person, analyze their words, take interest in how they think and feel. I do not struggle admitting I'm wrong. Sure, it's painful sometimes, when I care a lot, but well, that's life and I've got lots of work to do in order to achieve genuine purity and modesty. I just... I really don't want to be proud. Arrogance is unforgivable from my point of view and being perceived as such, whether it's true or not, hurts. Similar experience, fellow INFJs?

Did you ever tell him about MBTI?? A big picture objective intro would probably hook him! Then he could figure out how you work for himself. And come to being nice to you in his own way. Otherwise he probably actually doesn't get it.

I go best with intj, we both feel alienated by the world, we get each other, as we support each other.. but thats me. What hurts me is other people's closed mindedness.. I think knowledge is soooo important and I think I don't connect to people like most do. Having a isfp and infp son with dominant Fi has taught me alot over values, but I find it very hard how the fact others stay in an emotional state for too long.

It's not that we entps just dont care. It's that we cant care. Trying to tell me to care about emotions over logic is like telling a bee to stop worrying about honey. NOT POSSIBLE!!!! We dont care about emotions because our emotions are weak. We do however care about people. We just care logically

Hi. thank you for creating this video and sharing your experience and insight. I am an ENTP married to an ESFJ. Interesting how that pair seems to be common. Your dad sounds a lot like me. Respect. Ideas. Despising conventional wisdom and tradition, etc. yep. that's me. I have ideas and I want to give expression and life to them. If you tell me you don't like the way I behave I won't automatically get upset or offended - I first want to dig into that and see what and why. If you can explain yourself well, then I will respect it even if I don't agree. It's just frustrating when people can't explain :) Anyway, thanks again.

Js organize everything. Ps don't. So you may be a little off about your dad's type. You do seem to have a little INFJ bias, but it was interesting to get your take. Though, I don't know if I could go out with someone so sensitive.

The INFJ person was a great partner to be with. When she got into taken opioid drugs from get mother and daughter she polluted her mind and became a covert Narsacistic person. A bipolar personality can make a relationship so bad. She had 3 men on the internet all the time looking to make a move. I see a lie after a lie that it is painful to see what this person has done to our relationship and self. God will let her punish herself as to where she may have messed up her brain. She has gone into hiding. Because she is an INFJ thinker and she knows all the answers. She needs to carry Narcan but will not do it. So God it is in your hands only you can bring her back to her original personality. Later. Comment if you will.
