Two great videos, Where do the yellow ropes attach that go through and out of the motor mount?

Thank you! I drilled a couple of holes in the woodboard for the yellow rope to go in and out to tie. Using it for additional support/stabilization just in case but you can do without it as well, hope that helps!

What do you need to register the kayak with a motor? I’m in the same area with an inflatable. I want to do the same as you, go a bit offshore but I definitely want to add a trolling motor. Any vids on how you installed yours?

I actually only registered my inflatable boat with the outboard motor, i did not register my kayak with the trolling motor but to register your inflatable, you do need to go to DMV and fill out an application if it's your first time, it'll be registered for two years and then you can just renew through mail like any other car renewal. the process wasn't easy actually, I had to fill out a couple of long applications they gave me and you need to make sure to bring all the documents for your inflatable boat. I'm actually not sure about registering kayak with trolling but online does say any boat using motor should be registered but not specified

Nice setup! What is the motor brand?

thanks! the motor brand from the video is called Bixpy, it's normally for hard kayaks and paddleboards but I figure I'd create a way to put it on my inflatable kayak too! Bixpy is more expensive than the regulat trolling motor for sure but you can recharge and it's waterproof too so there are pros and cons. Let me know if you'd like to know more about the motor, i can tell you more about it!

Do you need to register your inflatable fishing kayak with a bixpy motor

I only registered my inflatable boat and not the kayak with bixpy motor, but I do believe it is required as long as u use a motor regardless it’s outboard or trolling

@Fishing_Fables okay, so I'll have to go to my dmv to get it registered

How long does that battery last you? Been looking at the bixpy but it’s the same if not more than what my kayak was lol

the bixpy battery lasts depending on how fast and far you want to go to be honest. my bixpy is a J2 model which has speed from 1-12 and if i max at 12, i most likely last about 40-45 mins. but if i just go at 6, i never fully drained it ever even on 5-6 hour fishing trip, to me it's a perfect cruising speed while you're setting up stuff on kayak or eat something or drink coffee/beer, i usually go about 3 miles out and 3 miles back with speed 6 within 4-5 hours and had no issues and it only drops like 1-2 bars. i would think the bar would drop faster if you go further and also if you keep turning it on and off i would def believe it'll drain faster, hope that help!

bixpy is kinda expensive as you know so i did an installment too but i still use it for 3 years and no maintenance or nothing, it's pretty solid if you're trying to invest in it. i haven't looked into other options so perhaps there might be better options out there for cheaper cost for sure.
