I don’t know if you know this or not but after drying those herbs in the levo don’t throw them away. Take the dried herbs and grind them in a spice grinder and then have you some of your own ground herbs for cooking?
But your drying them so you can then infuse them in oil. Your can't use them after the oil process. Unless your saying use the drying method to make own grinded herbs.
So cool! I've been making my own tinctures, balms, salves, medicines, and other things for many years. I've previously done oil infusions in an old yogurt maker, but the LEVO looks like it would be so much better! I infuse propolis into oil (you could sure do that too!)--it's good for so many things. Even adding a little to your other products help preserve them. I also like to rub a few drops of propolis oil onto my hands when I go out to work with my bees. It's such a nice familiar scent to them, they are very calm and relaxed. I also find the propolis oil to be good aromatherapy for me in the dead of winter--the soothing scent of the summer beehive--ah! I used your 10% discount and ordered my LEVO--thank you!
Love the machine. My mind is going at 100 miles per hour with ideas. I recon a cream based on honey with oil and botanicals for scrapes and cuts would be good. I have used Tea tree oil ( Mellaluca species here in NZ and Australia) but am starting to use honey and Tea Tree oil mixed with excellent results
Yay!!! I’ve been waiting for this!!! Unbelievable how easy!!! Amazing machine!!! So Fun!! Your face when you tasted it and I think I saw your wheels turning & the excitement!!! I thought she’s going to squeal!!😂 But you held it together!! Lol!! Thank you so much for sharing - hope to see more & ohhh the infused honey🥰💛💛
How do you feel, as an herbalist, about using the ongrok or the magical butter machines to make tinctures? I have been looking and looking for other herbalist that do and I can't find any. Thanks so much for all your informative content!
I can't understand why I can only find people using these machines to make THC tinctures. Is there a reason one couldn't use these machines for any medicinal herbs?
@@kittenleo28 This is the exact question I'm trying to answer right now. I have evening primrose seed pods all over my dining room table, and I've borrowed my niece's Alpha 420, There is nothing on their website about anything other than cannabis, and I can't find any videos on RU-vid about it.
This looks great! But does it really make medicinal grade extractions? Or is it more to enhance the flavour? I don't usually make tinctures out of medicinal herbs I use because of the slow process, but if this is able to do the same things in a few hours it'd be great. Also, what about roots, bark or berries as opposed to leaves? Do you know if they work well? Thanks!
💛 thank you sweetheart, I appreciate your kindness! I bet your momma is one amazing person to have raised such kindhearted individuals and she is correct.
How much herb by weight can you infuse in one setting on the machine? I know the machines are relatively expensive The flowering tops of Rosemary are the most potent part of the plant You can grind a big handful of the flowering tops to whole grain cereal eg brown rice. Add yoghurt fruit honey etc for breakfast A wonderful tonic for brain eyes digestion and circulation
Can I use turmeric and milk thistle powder or would it not get filtered out properly. If this is the case can I use a coffee filter inside the machine ?
There is a hole in the bottom, when you add the oil after drying , does the hole close while infusing because I poured oil in with machine off and it went straight thru lol
I'm trying to find out how to make a maple leaf extract for skin. Can anyone help me? Have you seen the research on this? It seems to prevent wrinkles. I've been buying a solution online, but want to make it myself. I'm thinking it must be an infusion process? Please think about doing a video on this! : )
@@TheHoneystead is this because a finely ground herb would not get properly strained with the machine alone? Would lining the LEVO basket with cheesecloth be a solution to this?
@@TheHoneystead does it not filter it well with the basket that comes with it? I would like to do batches of 1L oil with herbs - would this be too much for this machine?
I use my levo to infuse cannabis, which has to be usually somewhat finely ground to infuse the best way possible. The pod it comes with has such small holes that no herbs should escape but I do see some people choose to put a filter from a french press in the bottom and then infuse, that will catch any plant matter you may be worried about.
