I SO wish they'd throw a better animated version of this at the end of The Killing joke animated feature film!!! This, at about 5mins running time, would make the PERFECT post credits scene!!! Thanks BTW - now every time I watch this I'm going to be reminded of how similar they are :P
+RandomMindz Well joker doesn't really want to kill batman or unmask him either he enjoys the cat and mouse game they play together but I see your point
+RandomMindz Joker's purpose is to prove that anybody can go insane by just having a really bad day, and Batman is always fighting against that ideology. Pop quiz: How can you call a man who can successfully drive a god insane?
@Viper Hareous To be fair, Superman turned out badly partly because of others' actions and decisions., ie, Wonder Woman, Batman, The President. Just because Batman is one kill away from becoming a monster doesn't mean everyone else is.
@Viper Hareous "Killing automatically makes you crazy." And again that kind of thinking (and story writing) is just illogical, Hernan Guerra from JL: Gods and Monsters was still pretty much a sensible person, he's just doing what needs to be done.
@Viper Hareous nah, people like Joker are too dangerous to keep alive. The government should kill them after trying them in a court, not vigilantes though.
@@kenjinakasehino5937Let’s be real here, every interaction of Injustice is crap. They all assassinate Superman’s character along with several other’s, especially Wonder Woman.
Yeah that is pretty funny. That's why he's laughing when Superman kills him, it's because of what he just accomplished. He knew what Superman would transform into.
@@youtubeshadowbannedme this is 2 years ago, but you replied to a comment 3 years ago at the time so why the hell not, the cinematic was made by netherrealm or whatever but dc made the dialogue, characters, context, so it's like if dc was the developer and netherealm was the publisher
*MAJOR SPOILER ALERT based on the Injustice Comics:* The Joker killed Jimmy Olsen by shooting him in the eye, then he kidnapped Lois Lane, then he placed a chip connected to a nuclear device inside the heart of Lois Lane, then he placed that nuclear device right smack in the middle of Metropolis, then he combined Kryptonite and Scarecrow's fear gas to drug Superman into thinking that Lois Lane is Doomsday... Now that nuclear bomb he planted will be set-off in the event that Lois Lane's heart stopped beating. So long story short, Superman grabbed Lois thinking that she is in fact the terrible Doomsday. Superman flew Lois right into the unforgiving environment of space killing her due to the lack of oxygen cause that's what he did when he faced Doomsday before. Superman only came to when he heard the beating of two hearts... one of Lois and the other of his son. This event of course sets-off the nuclear bomb killing millions of Metropolis citizens that Superman has worked so hard to protect. Yeah Superman might have killed The Joker, but let's face it, The Joker also killed what Superman is all about. Now the only "REASON" The Joker did this was that he was tired of always losing to the Batman and that he wanted to win for a change. So he picked "EASY MODE" and that mode is Superman.
the joker won, he killed millions, drove superman over the edge, started a war between heroes that would cause chaos for years to come and finally got a superhero to cross that line and kill him. he died with a smile for a reason. his last thoughts were *'this is turning out better than i hoped'*
People are always blaming batman for letting Joker loose all the time, but what the hell is the government doing? Even in our reality there is no government in the world that would let a psychopath murder THAT many people and just send him back to some asylum. He would've been executed by at LEAST the 4th time.
+cJinL That is EXACTLY my point of view! Batman is not to blame, government is. Joker should be stopped, and I heard that in one timeline, Blackgate and Arkham Asylum were closed and many villains, including Joker, were frozen. And what about Robot Chicken? When Batman allows Joker to be sent to capital punishment?
***** Batman does his part by stopping the Joker and taking him to people who have the legal authority to make decisions on a person's life. At that point, judges and juries should decide what to do, and with the LEGAL power to put an end to him, they CONSTANTLY think it's the best for him to just be put into an asylum even though he keeps escaping and killing more and more people.
+Ilya Rysenkov Still, Joker is such a favourite villain to us that it's very hard to get rid of him. That's the problem. Remember that the whole darkness of Joker immunity is mostly from this.
It's a comic book world so popular villains like the Joker are going to get a ton of stories where they'll ultimately get caught at the end. They then break out for a when its time for a new story. It's just the nature of the medium. It's why in the Dark Knight trilogy world which is closed to other stories, Ledgers death aside, that Joker only had one go and was locked up and gone forever afterwards.
If Superman had just killed the Joker, I wouldn't disagree with him. But, taking over the world as a dictator is a betrayal of everything he stood for. And it means Lois died in vain.
@@goonerOZZBruh, that's just Batman, does that every law enforcement that kills criminals are one step from becoming lunatics with taste for violence and blood.
PlatinumSpoons I've never seen the film but in the comics (of that era) he could fly fast enough to travel through time (sometimes) so did he fly in circles to go back in time or did he really rotate the earth?

You really can't blame superman for killing joker he made sups kill Lois his unborn son and millions of others had it been any of us we would've done the same thing!
Speak for yourself. If it was me, I would've decapitated him limb from limb and completely break his jaws so he wouldn't talk anymore then lock him up for the rest of his life. A better solution than Supes method.
He did the right thing. The fact that Insurgency Batman hates Regime Superman for killling Joker even though all Batman would have done was send him to Arkham Asylum again shows that Batman is insane and cares more about continuing his never ending battles with the Joker than saving the lives of innocent people.
That's Batman's convenient excuse of becoming a dark person. If he really cares about stopping Joker, he would have killed Joker and then killed himself afterwards.
@@Xehanort10 It's not killing Joker that turns Batman against Superman, it's what Superman does AFTERWARDS that turns Batman against him. Read the Injustice comics, or watch Comicstorians' video on them and you will understand
Joker: strike me down with all of your hatred, and your journey to the darkside will be complete. Batman: No Clark, It's a trap. Superman : I don't care (kills joker) Years later Batman: I warned you...I fucking warned you....
This. This is the main reason why I quit being a Superman hater. When you see how much self-control he has to deal it, a being with the power to conquer or destroy entire planets, and still choosing not to give in. I came to appreciate, and even admire him, not by his powers, but by his morals. The people of the whole DC Universe have to be thankful for the fact that Superman isn't evil (yet), for if he was, there's no one in the universe who could stop him. I mean, sure, physically he's pretty much invulnerable, which is probably the reason why people dislike, BUT his mind isn't. And that mind could be broken, just like we see here. And if it was, may God have mercy on the entire world. The man of Steel lives in a world of cardboard who's constantly trying to break him, and still he tries to save it. ...For now.
@DaRk Rusher if you read every comic book where the two vs each other and count the wins you'll see that superman beats batman more times and bats only wins due to people helping him out or using supermans weakness. There are even times where superman defeats the entire justice league, in the injustice universe batman beat superman with another superman since all his plans failed before. The creators of the game said it would put an end to the debate of who would win, so superman can only beat himself, people beat him down sure but he always comes back in the end or it was part of his plan along to lose in order to trigger a chain of events the result in him winning. Just saying
its between the lines, Joker won because he succeeded in making someone kill him, for becoming insane as he is but he also lost because it wasn't Batman.
Xehanort10 After playing the game, Superman went all Darth Vader on everyone.... So tasting blood was not exactly good for good ol' Supes and the rest of the cast.
Bang Shishigami It wasn't killing Joker that turned Regime Superman evil. It was what Joker did to Lois and the unborn child inside her. And stop with all that "Tasting blood by killing evil people turns heroes evil." shit.
That was the jokers ultimate plan. Killing millions was just in his mind a happy side effect. He knew he couldn't force Batman to break but superman........Making him snap was jokers legacy in that universe.
"Trustworthy".........Dont think so....He made a Contingency Plan for the Justice league.....He has some Serious Trust Issues....The only Time I Hated BATMAN!!!!
+Black Messiah The Joker won because his goal was to trick Superman, killing millions of people, including Lois. And now Superman became a murderer. So yes, the Joker Won.
Superman had control over a tyrannical world, betraying all of his ideals and throwing the entire planet into chaos. Superman 'won' in that he had power, but he didn't save the world. He became the villain. Joker won by turning Earth's greatest hero into its greatest threat.
Leo The FireWolf ( God Of The FireWolves ) Sure it wasn't the lungs cause I'm pretty certain THIS Joker doesn't have a heart. :P (Seriously, I doubt it.)
can you imagine being in this world, and seeing what may be the most powerful entity you know of in the world....just break bad. Shock, dispair, horror, fear.... it would just change you to the core.
In this game you can see that in the beginning Superman was still incredibly holding back on killing the Joker. Just throwing him around the room until he eventually got tired of him. In the movie, no conversation, no hesitation, bro straight up sank his hand into his chest.
For those who scream and cry about Superman killing, consider this: 75 years ago Allied soldiers fought in World War II - young men. They had to kill certain Nazis to defeat the evil of the Axis forces. Yeah, prisoners were taken, but when the situation called for it, good men killed. Even in a never-ending battle for truth and justice, occasionally an evil guy will die. If not, innocent people die instead. Look at Gotham City, hundreds of innocent people have died because Batman insists on letting the Joker live.
cqtaylor Yeah, but when you think about it, look what Superman became after he killed Joker: a tyrannical insane dictator so blind by his twisted beliefs that he fails to see what he has done is wrong. You don't seem to get that *this was exactly what the Joker wanted* killing him would make the very man who killed him even worse or no better than he already was. Everything that Clark has done in the Injustice Universe, was because he killed the Joker. Joker won in the end because he broke the Man of Steel and made him to what he is now. That's why Batman didn't bother to kill him because he was afraid that he would become ether worse or no better than the Joker or any of his Rogues in that manner.
If I were Superman, I would go crazy and kill Joker too. Nobody could bear that killing your beloved family with your own hands just because some psychos could get away again and again. You would think it was your own fault that you let the criminals slip away and at the end caused the tragedy you should have able to avoid if you had done something. *Sigh*
Just a guy not quite. He beat Superman. He never managed to defeat Batman. But there is one thing he did do. He proved that out of the two, Batman is the more morally grounded superhero. Ironic given the psychopaths he fights on a daily basis. Though it does bring up a question of mine. What would have happened if joker had started his crime circus in metropolis, and lex luthor had set his company in Gotham. Reverse the rolls of the archenemies. How long would it take for joker to break Superman? Would Lex eventually be able to outsmart Batman?
David Blass He won because he proved a point he brought up with bats years ago, he won because in the end he proved that all it really takes to turn a paragon of virtue into a monster like himself...is just one bad day.
James.T .Adams no thats still wrong. All he did was prove a point. That’s different than winning against Batman himself. Last I checked, if he had won that particular fight, the villain in the game would have been the Batman who laughs, aka one of the most dangerous villains the multiverse has ever seen. Think Batman with jokers psychotic and murderous tendencies.
@@davidblass3767 I feel like Joker would have targeted Jimmy and Lois constantly to the point where Super man would become paranoid. Just look at what he did to Barbara in the killing joke, that is a great blue print as to what the Joker would do if he ever knew his arch nemesis weakness.
Joshua Tschacher you clearly have no knowledge of terminology do you? God-like is similar to a "Gary Stu" character type. in other words hes god like because he has insane speed, strength, can fly, is invulnerable to everything but kryptonite, highly intelligent, handsome and pretty much every thing else a "perfect" character can have. this is also a fairly unpopular character type because it represents a boring character. its boring because they win fights with next to no effort and excel at everything with little effort involved. if your going to run your mouth maybe brush up on your terminology skills. otherwise just shut up so you don't look like an idiot. yes hes god like and frankly i feel like i'm dealing with an elementary schooler. christ man i learned this terminology back in second grade english and writing.
I know what God like means too dip shit. Superman only has these abilities because of the convenience of landing on our planet. Thus making him an alien with the power of convenience. One more thing. Do you have a crush on superman? It's either that or you think that his powers give him his appearance. I may not study terminology but I know a thing or two about genetics.
This opening didn't show it, but according to the comics, what Joker did was A LOT WORSE than what was shown in this scene. Specifically, what and how Joker made Superman go mad, and what Superman exactly did. Spoilers: Joker first killed Jimmy Olson, then kidnaps Lois (preg with Supes's son) while Superman was trying to defuse a bomb. Except the bomb wasn't some sort of city destroying bomb, but it was containing Kryptonite-laced fear toxin. Superman inhaled some of it, and it immediately brings him back to the moment when Doomsday killed him in DOS. While Supes was going crazy to fight off illusionary Doomsday, Joker throws Lois at Supes. Supes sees Lois as Doomsday, and since Supes didn't want so much damage to Metropolis, Supes takes Doomsday-Lois into outer space. While in space, Supes gets powered up by the direct sunlight and overcomes the fear toxin, only to realize that he brought Lois into outer space, killing her. Meanwhile, Joker setup a nuke in Metropolis, which was connected to Lois's heartbeat, so when Lois died, it also set off the nuke, which leveled the city. Yeah, take your time to absorb that.
Aye aye. The comic didn't show Lois's body, but I bet it was a mess, since Supes exited Earthy's gravity force, which requires at minimum of Mach 23. You know what happens when a human goes at Mach 23 while the rest of the atmosphere stays still? It liquifies.
Joker actually laughed knowing that he brought The Man of Tomorrow down to his level. *"Madness is like gravity. All it takes is a little....PUSH."* *"All it takes is one... bad... DAY."*
The thing is, its not even like Superman was wrong to kill the joker. There were several points where Superman couldve been brought back to the light, but decisions made by others such as wonder woman, batman, and the government make him keep falling down this slippery slope
Batman clearly was okay with this death. If he wanted to stop Superman he would. He knew that superman would be in a highly emotional state, and likely to come and kill the joker, so he would certainly have kryptonite on hand. The fact that he doesn't use it, is evidence that he too agreed it was time the joker was put to death. Notice that he doesn't even try to talk sense into Clark. That is uncharacteristic for Batman because he is all about sensibility. The glance after he threw Batman at 3:28 was not a glance of remorse, but he was waiting for a command. He wanted to make sure Batman was okay with him killing the Joker. Batman didn't contest, so that was all Superman needed, so that he knew he could kill the joker.
Um...no he was going to kill him anyway and if batman tried to stop him any further he would have got hurt. Hal tried to stop him but got knocked out Batman was terrified and he knew he couldn't stop him
I thought the same thing when I first played this. Except for the glance, I don't think there was much more behind that than a "You done?" to Batman. But yeah, it seems to me that Batman let it happen.
TheLittleMJPuppet actually i think there is some sort of universe in the dc multiverse in which this happens, in dont remenber rigth now but i think it ended up in superman defeating(not killing) batman once or twice then batman comes up with a suit that has close to the same strength as superman, then he defeats him because remenber that is trained in many martial arts and he is also in extreme conditions for a simple human being. to top things batman is a strategist, he would not start a fight he cant win.
And this day Joker won by realising his greatest feat, turning Superman into evil by destroying him mentally, effectively making Batman's life hell, poor Batman even dead the Joker make his life bad XD
Keep in mind superman didnt break after getiing insulted about joker comparing metropolis to krypton, he didnt break as joker insulted him more showing he had no remorse for what he did, he didnt even break when he pretty much told him he plans on doing something even worse than nuking metropolis. It took the joker blaming him superman for killing his family and laughing about it even though what happened was at best an accident. That was the straw the broke the camel's back...and apparently jokers too.
Batman is a Killer. Every time he let's the Joker alive, he's killing at least 50 innocent people. Punisher was right when he said that Batman spares the Joker because he needs to prove to himself that his ideology is correct. Even if that costs a lot of innocent lives. There are things in this world that can only be seen by a tainted eye.
JarJarEp8 So he let Joker alive knowing that he'll escape and kill a lot of innocents just for the fun of it? What's more important? His justice pride or prevent innocent's suffering?
Slayerx49 You are right but Batman is afraid to kill because he believes that if he starts he will be never stop and he is afraid Gotham might send back Joker or any villain back to him in a worse form. He fears others lives as well, going as far as saving Jokers life or any other criminal even if they eventually try and kill him.
Of all the Joker has ever done, this was probably one of his most monstrous attacks he's pulled. It's bad enough he put Batgirl out of commission, killed Jason, driving Commissioner Gordon insane, teased and tormented Bruce numerous times, but blowing up an entire city... that's a whole new level even for him! No wonder Clark was infuriated beyond reasoning. But Clark... out of all the things he's been through, all the villains he's faced, and it only takes one more loss to make him go insane to the point of going down the dark path. This is exactly why Batman never kills and Superman always hesitates. They both know it would make them go down a dark path they can't come back from which is why both know each others weaknesses so when that day comes, they'll be ready to finish the job. I think I know why Joker wasn't executed from this. Batman must have got to him just in time before they could give him the death penalty. As mad as the Joker is, there's no denying he's still as human as they are, and if they killed him, they wouldn't have found out where he got the nuke from, and if they didn't find out where it came from, what's to stop someone else from carrying out the deed should Joker die? I think Joker knew he was for it this time, and Bruce was only holding it back while Clark tossed him aside to finish what Batman could never do.
This is my favorite death of Joker because he went down laughing unlike most others he went out either screaming or in fear this death just captures that character perfectly Batman may have not done it but Joker still screwed Batman over by gaining him and the world an extremely powerful and deadly enemy.
Prodigy I was happy but not because joker died, but Because he won in the end. He doesn’t give a dam about his life, he created the worst villain of all time. Making the strongest man alive a villain, now that’s a victory for the joker.
The thing is in teh comics? We see a alternate version of events where Batman killed the Joker and was put in jail for it, and Superman offered to free him, but Batman said it was best he was here.
Ironically they always seem to show another universe that's worse off then their own, how about a new universe showing how the superheroes (somehow) convinced/rehabilitated the super villains, making them all heroes too, creating a world rid of nearly any form of crime while not living in some kind of military controlled world. (would not make a amazing story on itself, but it sure could get guys like Batman thinking on trying to help people like freeze to create a cure for Nora so he can stop his crime spree, or help other villain's who are basically just on the path of a villain due to having no other choice in the matter, mainly a lot of the henchmen.)
Victor getting some legitimate funding, Nygma creating escape houses, Pamela put to work helping the environment recover from fires and other disasters. Those three are easy to deal with, it's the rest that are problems
"I have lots of planning to do to top this~" No you don't, you already topped it by turning a godlike being to insanity and ruled over the world even after death
“You think vengeance is the missing piece of the puzzle, that it will make you whole again. But all it does is break you further.” - Phil Coulson, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Sorry for referencing from a rival comic, but this quote resonates so strongly with this.
