I love how tattoo artist hate getting judged by their tattoos and piercings yet the second they hear they're gana tattoo an inmate they flip shit XD way to keep the cycle of judgment going guys! XD not all inmates are bad just like not all tattoo artist are bad people

I know I'm late af but I can confirm that the inmates in this flash challenge were not real prisoners at the time of filming. I know this because my uncle was Tatu Baby's canvas. He answered a casting call ad on Craigslist looking for human canvases that were former inmates so they knew how to walk the walk without having to get special permissions from the Department of Justice. Some other insider facts about this episode I learned from him when he came back: The cells they were in were occupied by real prisoners, they were just temporarily moved for filming. One of the canvess slid dime jars of bud under the cell doors before they left so the real inmates had a present waiting for them. Allegedly, Dave Navarro is a massive narcissistic ass hat. Before filming inside the prison, most if not all of the canvases got together and had a smoke sesh around/on top of the police cruisers. One of the producers came over to them and was like "Y'all too bold. If you get caught we don't know you."

everyone that is saying this is staged is correct. The guy at 4:36 has been a canvas 3 times already on the show

ya know with all theses shows that involve prisons, they guards are payed to be loud and rude while the inmates are told to do the same. took a tour of a prison back in college and they were all fairly friendly and nice.
