inklings only get their humanoid form at 14 so it makes sense why they dont make the stages, weapons and clothes, because they're (presumably) teens, so i think thats why they dont make them

9:40 time for another Splatoon 1 fact , the inklings used to use power from underground domes , maybe they used fossil fuels , but this source of power was declining rapidly , eventually the Great Zapfish and possibly the regular Zapfishes were found. These fishies were inspired by the real life electric catfish. But in both Splatoon 1 & 2 the zapfish don't electrocute the Inklings , it's almost like they are a pet fish , and since Octolings are similar to Inklings , they probably captured the zapfish since the zapfishes can't tell the difference. Also , a funny little secret in Splatoon 2 , sometimes the great zapfish will fly around Inkopilis and circle the deca tower , but if it was enslaved , it would fly away never to be seen again since they put the big guy outside. He also shows up in Piranha pit at one minute left , but I won't tell you where he appears , so the zapfishes probably aren't enslaved , but are kept like pets in a water tank , and since they have electrical powers , a wire is connected to the tank they are in , and the Great Zapfish just powers everything in Inkopilis.
