Inner Sanctum: The Creeping Wall
-----------------------------------------------------------
Episode Summary:
Karen used to be beautiful, she used to not be crazy. But time does strange things to Karen. She has nightmares that the walls are closing in on her. Is she responsible for setting her house on fire? For letting a four foot snake (!) loose? A new larger house should solve things, but it doesn’t. And the portrait of Delilah would drive anyone mad.
This episode was written by Sigmund Miller and stars Irene Wicker as Karen Swanson. We’re not sure who they got to play the snake.

Program Summary:
The eerie organ music, the turning of a doorknob and the deadly squeaking door, opens the way to....the Inner Sanctum.
If you want to have fun being scared, this is the show for you. If a scene of horror brings to mind bad puns, this is the show for you. If people dying by the score in unlikely and macabre ways brings a childish thrill, this is the show for you. This anthology horror/mystery/suspense series ran from 1941 to 1952.
While the stories will keep you awake at night, the most memorable part of the show was the creaking door opening and the host of the show. Raymond Edward Johnson introducing himself as, "Your host, Raymond," and closed each episode with "Pleasant Dreamsssssss." At breaks in the story he would comment on the action with oh so gleeful mayhem. Comments like: “Looks like she got more than she bargained for”, or “He always was a head case.” His goulish sense of humor and bad horror puns punctuated the stories. His influence can be seen in the Crypt Keeper from the various Tales from the Crypt movies/television/comics, as well as hosts for other anthology shows.
When Johnson left the series in 1945, he was replaced by Paul McGrath, who maintained the sense of dark humor, even when paired with the light hearted sponsor Lipton Tea. So turn off the lights, turn up the radio and
Pleasant Dreeeeaaaaammmmsssss
