You know when you enter a camera mode in a game and the camera moves around with a total lack of momentum, that is what the movement in this game reminds me of. I would have loved to see some inertia or some partial effects that show you are in water. Not for me but thanks for the review 👍🏻

I had backed this on Kickstarter and forgotten about it entirely until I got an email through about it today. I've only played a little of it so far and it seems fine. Nothing groundbreaking, but it's been okay so far. I'd say more along the lines of wait for a sale, but that's just me. Enjoyed your review nonetheless!

This game looks like it could have seriously benefitted from a more vibrant color palette. Some pinks, sunsetty colors, and more lighting effects could have made it more dreamlike along with softer sounds and music.

InnerSpace is colorful and vibrant in terms of it's visuals. It definitely has a pleasing aesthetic to it. It's also calm and relaxing much like ABZU. Then again, ABZU was immersive, it had a sense of exploration and simplicity was one of it's greatest strengths. I wouldn't say that I hate InnerSpace. However, it seems lacking when compared to a game such as ABZU. As a result, it just doesn't offer much to the player unfortunately. For $20, there are far better options out there. I may give it a shot, but only after the price drops a bit. Thanks once again for another great review. I really appreciate it!

when I first heard of that, I was wondering if it was based on the movie Inner Space, whose concept would actually be a very interesting game. think about it, an open world game that takes place in a human body.

Looks like they've neglected the camera a little bit when developing, which I think would really help the game. It looks really rigid, when you'd want it to be loose almost like you didn't have complete control over it. Letting the camera drag a little bit would really help and make it feel a bit more dramatic. They could probably patch that in and have a better game. That's what I'd do anyway.

I saw some screenshots and had some interest in this, but after watching the gameplay here...wow. the lack of defined shadows makes it look so, so flat. And that sound design was underwhelming. It's a shame, this looks like something I'd enjoy in theory, but the execution is lacking.

The game would have been cool if it just focused on being a disorienting yet fun and relaxing experience, but collecting the relics becomes so tedious, it isn't relaxing or fun.

Scary how this kind of game seems like something that would have been huge a generation ago, wirh fixes, but today it's a busted "who the hell put this out" mess. Flying through space has to be one of the best uses of a graphics engine, but make it plausible and give a bro some idea of what the space is there for or else it's just the Acid Queen sequence from Tommy and I am stuck wondering if Tina Turner won or lost.

I'm always reluctant to buy exploration games like these, as they can go in either direction. I might get lucky and stumble upon a game with really, really fun mechanics and new ideas that no other game has. Or I might waste money on a game that's confusing from the start and just gets worse from there. InnerSpace seems to be the latter, so I guess I'll skip it, like you recommended. Thanks for the review!
