I couldn't have went after tht genius in the middle bcus when i say he went in he WENT IN!!!! Talk about a proud moment, well i must say tht this is one for me. That man helps prove tht having a ear for soul comes in all shapes, size, and race. Hell the brotha has plently of soul to spread around. Much respect to all of the bass players on this video, but he was spot on with this joint. Iknew he was smooth when i notice his glasses n shirt, isn't tht how it normally be? Lol.. love it!( new fan)

Amazing. I had that same bass. It sounded great, but was so unstable the action and intonation would change every 5 minutes. Two different techs worked on it and said ,”yeah, it’s gonna be like that.”

Not bad, some really great stuff, but in my personal opinion they suffer from a pitfall of many bass players and that's a core strength to their sound. To each his own of course, but in my opinion the strength of jazz upright bass is what gives it it's character and soul, and not to be emulated but that same concept should be applied to bass guitar. That's what separates these great players from the legends: Marcus Miller, James Jamerson, Jaco Pastorius, Victor Wooten, Stanley Clarke, Anthony Jackson, Willy Weeks. Listen to them all, at times they lay back with their RH Technique but when it's needed they dig in, and thats where that grit you want is. Obviously, this is opinion

Hello, I would love some advice from all gospel players out there. I am in love with gospel music and can't stop listening to it and would really love to join a band in church, only problem is i'm not a christian. I highly respect all religions as they have one meaning which is be the best person you can. Do any of you have thoughts on this? would you let a buddhist join your gospel band? Thanks alot, Brice

Depends on the congregation you will be "applying" to play in. 10+ years ago, when I started my musical adventure I joined a small music school that I didn't know it was run by radical christians. The day I arrived with an Iron Maiden t shirt, or the day I asked to learn jazz, I was ostracized, besides the "teacher" I had sucked terribly but wasn't humble enough for telling me that he didn't know shit beyond the very basics of bass. Anyways, with all this I just wanna let you know that if you can get into music without the dogmatic part of it, the better. Sooner or later they will hamper your progress or your learning thirst in order to keep you in line, or even worse: in order to keep you playing for them.
