My grandparents lived in Yuma and it was an annual event for us to go dove hunting. I sure miss them and my dad, all gone now but each year no matter where I've lived I go out in honor of them to keep that tradition going. I can say definitively that other than Argentina Yuma is incredible for dove hunting. If you can hit them you can be done in 15 minutes in Yuma but here in Nebraska not so much haha still fun though. Miss you grandpa and dad, thank you for taking me out in the field. My grandpa was shot accidentally one year by an older gentleman from Anaheim and subsequently lost his right eye but the very next morning my grandpa woke me up at 4:30am and took me out, hell of a man shot from his eyes to his groin and still took me out. Tough old Marine. Miss those men and those days. Great fishing on Mitre Lake and duck hunting too!

I’m a Yuma native and work near the river and fields where a lot of the out of town hunters flock too. I gotta say, it’s nice to see responsible hunters enjoying themselves. Every year while at work I’m constantly dodging idiots with shot guns, and pellets raining down on me. Welcome to Yuma boys!

Great shooting. Been hunting Yuma every opener for last 8 years. Meet up with friends from San Diego Hardest part is finding a good field that isn’t posted. Wish I knew where you were hunting lol We also have the kids pick the birds for us and shells to leave it cleaner then we found it Yuma really promotes dove hunting as it generates lots of business for the city. Don’t go to Walmart expecting to find shells. I bring mine from home (Phoenix) but Yuma always ends up getting my money in other ways lol

May have to take a trip to Arizona wow. My dad stopped hunting do to age a few years ago, and hunting type 2 public land is too much walking for me being disabled, around this time every year I get geared up for September 1st😂, can’t help it😜. We had an awesome last hunt that had doves everywhere like this. Enjoy it, awesome video

Good to see your group enjoying opening day Dove season. Kindly review your video and turn it into a safety lesson. Your squatting position and shooting over the dogs also, why not a shooting break when you retrieved the downed birds.

Did AZGF plant fields this year? Looks like Dome valley. That's where the fields were planted in 2017. Most of the fields South of town are all lettuce fields. Hopefully, AZGF did more plantings like you mentioned. Did they tell the public where the fields were? The year I went they did not make it public. I had to scout it for myself.

I hunted the Blythe area and got limits opening day. I'm an avid bird hunter and I love these kind of videos action packed, you should make this a yearly tradition you guys might want to think about getting a semi auto or an over under makes the Hunt way more fun in my opinion. Awesome footage!

Me and my buddy are going to Yuma for the 1st time. Grew up in the San Joaquin but CA laws and no open private property have killed our annual hunts. Any recommendations on fields, restaurants or such? I can't wait till my son is old enough to come with us.

Idk if your still here but try el señior taco best tacos you’ll ever eat in your LIFE! lol, you should try the quail hunting too if you get a chance. As for fields everywhere has birds, But as a personal spot I wouldn’t know. Good luck and stay safe from COVID 😷
