Status Quo a no nonsense boogie band that always give 100 % or more when playing live. A great band live seen them at least 20 times from 1981 on their Never Too Late Tour right through till now.Seen them on their Christmas tour in 2016 in Birmingham and Liverpool. Got back home and my brother text me to day Rick Parfitt had passed away so sad 😞 😔 😟 🙁. R I P Rick a national treasure like Francis Rossi .

I was 16 years old when I first watched the Quo at the Apollo Glasgow, I didn't miss a concert every year until recently, I was also at this concert. BTW Jimmy Page called Francis Rossi in the top 5 best guitarists on the planet :)

The, 'End Of The Road', tour culminated at the Milton Keynes Bowl on 21st July 1984. Supposedly, their farewell to doing live performances, but with promises of studio albums to come. Something that wouldn't happen with the line up featured here. The, 'split', in the band came a year later when one member took the others to court to try and prevent them from using the name Status Quo in any new recordings. He ultimately lost and wasn't too pleased about it. Regardless, the remaining part of the band, which consisted of Rossi and Parfitt, reformed the band and recorded a new album. (Something they're were contractually obliged to do or owe the record company a huge pay out), and the rest is history. 'Roll Over Lay Down', remained a standard throughout the bands' career and was, (at this time, at least), played directly after the opener, 'Caroline.' The single version of this song actually being a live version from 1975. With the album version featuring on the 12 Gold Bars, 'greatest hits', album that was released in 1980.
