I still can’t believe we dropped that durian! Don’t worry all! We still ate the whole thing!! Maybe not sanitary, but we had no choice! So much fun making this with you brother! ❤🎉
Bak means meat in Hokkien(Fujian). Aku pun Nalaysian jugak. That’s why you can see all the bak word in Malaysia. Philippines, Singapore and Indonesia eg bak so, bak kut Teh, bakkwa all are meat related
Most of Asian foods and Western cuisines in Malaysia are actually better taste than from the original countries..most Malaysian people are very good in improvising foods and make them more delicious and interesting too..😋
That Bakso is indonesian in origin. Biasa =regular / normal and Bakso is the name of it. Air = water and Tebu = Sugarcane. Jalan is street but it also has another meaning which is to walk. Indonesian dishes are similar but there's a difference becareful their sambal tend to focus on the heat. Malaysian hot sauce tend to be more on the sweeter side and less heat. It really depends on the vendor's preference i'd say 50:50. Indo hot sauces or sambals always 100% heat and then some lol. One more thing in North America you say Ketchup but over there its called Tomato sauce, that guy was pointing at soy sauce which we call Kicap (sounds similar to ketchup).
Hi Chris and Brad. Behind you that talk so loud they’re from the Indonesia I guess they both just had a good conversation and the food that you had (Bakso) is actually Indonesian and the seller is also from the Indonesia. Not sure why she said it Malaysian food. Need to correct where the food come from before the Indonesian netizen/ viewer get angry 😂😂 (Indonesian always accused Malaysian steal their food). One more thing, why can’t you film in Petaling Street Chris? I wonder what had happen to you during your last visit. I saw many tourist went there and film the area. Well, welcome to Malaysia again Cris & Brad. Love from Malaysia 🇲🇾
@@decTac Bak kut teh is believed to have originated from China's Fujian province. everything is one click away now, just look up the origin of bakuteh🤦🏽♂️
Hey Chris, some of us are Muslim and in countries like Canada and the United States we don’t get halal options for mainstream fast food stores like McDonalds, KFC, Subway, Dominos, etc. so when we visit a country like Malaysia we have to make the most of it haha. Keep up the good videos, watching all the way from Canada.
chris welcome to Malaysia man...FYI, some simple word that make different during food hunting in Malaysia, Kicap = Soy sauce sos Cili = Chili sauce Sos Tomato = Ketchup Different with US and other european country, our main sauce in most fast food restaurant is chili based not ketchup which refer to tomato based sauce... hehehehe enjoy your day ,come here during Ramadhan please!
Hi Chris and Brad, I have two tips I want to share with you. First one is to get rid of the durian smell when you burp after eating durian, you take the shell of the durian and pour water into the white part of it and drink the water from there. You will think it’s crazy but it works! Secondly, you should go to KFC, McD Pizza Hut etc in Malaysia and other countries and make a video out of it. They are different from the chains in America. Some may say they taste better than the American ones. Give it a try!
Ive been wandering these streets in KL china town and I seen this place a few times now and wanted to check it out but now im definetly going to have to go after watching you guys enjoy it so much! Mad respect to you guys! My fellow Beardsman!
Chris so generous with the tips 😆 Tipping not so common in Malaysia. But we tip too. Great video Chris. Careful with the durian addiction Chris. It will haunt you when you go back to the states 😂
Good to see you’re back in Malaysia Chris. Air tebu, the “air” is pronounced as “I - yee - air” and not the way you pronounce it in English. Air in Malay means water and tebu is sugarcane. Do get away from the city centre bro, everything is expensive in there! Visit the night markets in ss2 in petaling jaya or taman Connaught in cheras, you’ll find cheaper durian and other local food. Can’t remember if you’ve been to Penang or Genting Highlands, these are 2 places I’d recommend you visit. Enjoy the rest of your trip bro
Mr. Chris:Congratulations to you for your new remarkable video today’s from Kuala Lumpur, Chinatown, Malaysia to shows these amazing places in February of 2024❤❤❤
Mr. Chris: I had visited Chinatown, New York City, New York so many times in the United States❤❤❤Thanks you so much for this amazing video today’s from Chinatown, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in February of 2024❤❤❤
Mr. Chris:Thanks you so much for this new remarkable video today’s from Kuala Lumpur, Chinatown, Malaysia to meet these two men from different countries in February of 2024❤❤❤
Why did youtube say you couldn't go down that street that had counterfeits? Is that video still up or did they take it down? Was it because of counterfeits?
Bakso is not malaysian its indonesian, but malaysian people loves to eat everything. Thats why you can find it here. If you want authentic local malaysian food, i recommend you to visit other states of malaysian.
I am from Malaysia but living in Melbourne Australia and Air Tebu means in English..... Sugar cane Water. Air is called water in Malay. Very sad you dropped the delicious durian on the floor and I really miss the Kings of fruits in Melbourne but we get them here but not as fresh as the ones in Malaysia which are fresh. Enjoy your trip to Malaysia Truly Asia Country.
Hi Chris. My best friend is American. He says next time you're in KL, you should check out the Night Market in SS2 (Petaling Jaya). Try the Economy Rice at S11 Restaurant. And the street food in the Night Market like fried carrot cake, peanut/corn pancake, baked salted chicken, etc, etc. Cool down with cheap beer in SS2 Food Court (Wai Sek Kai). Then let me know your comments?
Hey Chris. From the UK,.love your videos. Coming to KL in April 2025. What's it like for grabbing a beer. We'll be there during Ramadan. Obviously I'm Bangkok you can grab a beer almost anywhere. Not that it really matters but I do like a cold one now and then. Cheers
I suggest you get a local food vlogger to accompany you as some infos are inaccurate. Bakso is NOT Malaysian food...it is one of the staple Indonesian delicacies.

Hehehee…😁😁😁). - Watching your food’s & drinks video here’s. “Air” (pronunciation “Ayer” ) means “Water”, and “Tebu” means “Sugar Cane”. 😋😋 - Oh! Hi Mr. Chris do come to my neighbourhood i-City at shah alam, selangor next time you visit Malaysia😊😊it is a beautiful place with full of colorful lights, snowhouse, mall, airbnb apartments and you can taste world cuisines at the icity central mall.
The people behind u (arguing) are not Malaysian but sounded Indonesian. Cant make ip what they are arguing about. On Durian - Malaysia has THE best durians coz we pick them when the fruit fell off the tree when they are ripe. Vs in Thailand, they are mostly plucked unripe from the tree.
Great video, brother. Keep up the confident positivity. I'm doing reaction videos about activities in Asia. Let me know if you're cool with me reacting to one of your videos in the future.
Many don't know that Malaysian durians are the best durians in the world..even Thai durian traders came to smuggle our durians especially the Musang King durians and exported them to other countries as "Thai Musang King" 😅
Cempedak is another fruit to try when you get the chance. And you dropped durian on the ground, would have done the same and washed it off, still good.
Air = water. But can also use for juice. Tebu = sugar cane. Air tebu = sugarcane juice/drink. There’s variety of sugarcane type, hence the different color. The one usually use to make juice is tebu (sugarcane) telur (egg). Not a real egg tho, just a name
