Thank you for this! It was hard to see and confused me when i looked in there with a scope. I have an intek twin with the same muffler case, and its a single outlet. This gives me a few ideas on how to merge 2 spare mufflers into 1 for a true dual outlet, hopefully.

So there is no spark arrestor in the muffler or even on the port flange?

I just took mine off had trouble with it falling off before on the back there is hole that looks like it has been welded but it is rusty and the hole is opening in places and the other side has the hole for the exhaust to go out should that hole that has the weld on it be covered plum up? JB weld? I can fix other wise have to take it some where ..? ANYONE?

I'm going to have to replace my second muffler. I was wondering if anyone ever tried to coat the inside of a muffler with cooking oil like a cast iron pan to prevent total rust out. With bbq grill paint on the outside.

instead of buying a new muffler can I just weld the seam where is cracked open

If your low on cash just drill a 1/4 inch hole at an angle from the last exit grate to penetrate the second to last tiny hole grate. The tiny hole grate , right before the last turn is the point of failure on these. If you are in a bind this will work until you can find an extra muffler.
