Inside Honduras: Where women are murdered for $60 

Imagine giving birth and spending 18 years, each, raising two daughters to be their best selves. One of them wins a contest and they are both killed by insecure and hateful men.

The fact that this man can sit somewhere comfortable, not in a prison cell and do interviews about how many people he's murdered makes me sick to my stomach.

I was adopted at 2 weeks old from Honduras. I've lived in California my whole life. I'm beyond grateful everyday for where I ended up. Watching these videos makes me think how different my life would be. My birth mom just gave me away, not knowing if the people that took me were good people. I was so lucky to end up with 2 amazing parents.

Shame on Honduras...this was 6 years ago and 4 days ago the situation still remains the same...Shame on Honduras and Shame on all countries that encourage such horrific acts.

I'm from Honduras. when I was a young girl, a group of men broke into our small ranch, it was just me and my grandpa at the time. They wrapped a towel around my head and shot my grandpa in the same room. It's been 25 years, and we never heard a single thing from the police. It's not even crazy to think that it could have been them.

If he’s so proud he killed all these people, which is disgusting, then why is he too coward to show his face?

I can't believe some Honduran men do these things to their wives, daughters, mothers, and girlfriends. They are supposed to be protected and honored, not slaughtered.

To the woman who won that beauty pageant crown: she will go down in history as the winner of that pageant. Losers can murder you but your achievements stand forever.

As a woman, it breaks my heart to hear that he said "women are easy to kill" like we're some kind of an animal. He didn't even think about the woman who brought him to this world.

Guy who hided his face. God will take his time with you. This life is temporary. Whatever justice awaits you up there, you ain’t going to find it fun.

I had a friend who married a man from Honduras ,,she found out when she moved to his country he was married with a family, as an expat I warned her about moving to his country, she had a boy and after increasing violence from her husband , she did a midnight express escape from her beach side home and paradise to the airport and back to the USA , I have no doubt if she would of been caught escaping and taking his son , she would of been killed

I can't imagine how hard to live in this country for women. Such moments need international intervention to solve such inhuman crimes against women. Nobody should be speared. Justice must be serve for those poor souls.

My 2 friends are from honduras. My sister went to honduras with them in late 1980s or early 1990s. I don't know when these killings started. Im sorry to hear about this. Sad she lost 2 daughters to a hit man situation.

I have so much awful things to say about Honduras. My mother is from here and I learned Spanish because of her. To say the least I don't recommend people visiting this country, you'll just get robbed the second you step out an airport or killed. Many criminals can spot a tourist and immediately target them, the police don't do anything and if something we're to happen they show up 2 hours late. Where I live the police would stay in front of a school to flirt with the high schoolers and do other things. I've always been a girl to not listen to what others say and give any men a cold look when they stare at me, I used to wear shorts or skirts in the us but I stopped wearing them when I go out cause guys just want to touch you or cat call which is gross. My 9 year old cousin has a classmate who was raped by her stepfather and the police didn't do anything, and if they catch a criminal well in a few months they let them go for good behavior. I'm not one to speak but this country needs some strict rules and shouldn't continue being like this.

Wait they interviewed the killer? But the police can't get him and he isn't rotting away in the worst way possible for life? Wtf!?

I think I have a hard day, and that lady had to leave her own home, after losing her daughter. Prayers for her. How absolutely horrible. I wish we could do a go fund me and bring her here to the states.

You have young girls getting pregnant at 12 here, and when the parents call to report the older man who took advantage of them and nothing is done. Especially because they say that the girl has to report, but at times they are too scared to speak up.

It's a whole different world there where life has no value. My wife is from El Salvador, which is right next door, and we lived there for 5 months 8 years ago. In that time, we went to a Wake every month of friends or family of my wife who were murdered by one of the gangs there. I was told since I am white, people in the street would ask me for money and some of them may take it as an act of "disrespect" should I deny a request and the person could be a gang member. If that happens, I could get shot, too. So I was handing out money left and right when asked. I'd constantly looking over my shoulder, and going with other people into the street. We REALLY have it good here in the States. You have no idea.

She says she she needs to leave because the gang members are coming to kill her while sounding so non-chalant is so scary. It's like it's the norm there

Central America is so beautiful yet dangerous. They will murder you with no remorse. My uncle was murdered at the age of 15 over a bike! They used a machete & left his body in a ditch. The murderers faced no punishment & walked around town like nothing happening.

I been to honduras..stayed for a month me and my kids to visit their grandparents ..and i never felt safe there. When i arrive back in the us..i kissed the ground.
