Interesting jacket! I like to walk quickly when I'm out in the hills. I've been using an Atom SL as an outer to keep me warm on early morning starts / on cool days. Do you think this coat would do a similar winter job for me, warm but not too warm, little bit waterproof, keeps the wind off? Think I need to head over to trekkit again!
If your main concern is wind resistance and a little warmth then I'd opt for a softshell instead. This'll provide a little more warmth than the Atom, greater wind resistance and will keep the rain off for a while if you get caught out. It's far more breathable than a full hardshell, so you'll most likely get along with it a little better when moving quickly. Something like this from Montane would do a great job: www.trekitt.co.uk/38328/products/montane-mens-dyno-xt-jacket-black.aspx
