I visited Middleham Castle in Yorkshire and was absolutely blown away by the size and scale of the place. Armed with my Fujifilm XT-4 Digital Camera, I spent hours exploring the ruins of this incredible historical place, trying to get some good video shots.

Middleham Castle dates back to the 12th Century and was acquired by the powerful Warwick Lords in the following century. The Earls of Warwick turned Middleham into one of the most fantastic palatial homes anywhere in the country. The last Earl of Warwick to own Middleham was none other that the infamous Richard Neville AKA 'The King Maker'. Following him rebelling againt his long term friend and ally - Kind Edward IV - Middleham Castle and most of Warwick's lands were passed to Richard Duke of Gloucester, later to become King Richard III.
Ironically, Middleham Castle actually served as Richard's childhood home as he came to live here as part of Warwick's household when he was 13. Another interesting fact is that Richard's Son and heir Edward (of Middleham) was born at the castle.
