my old boy, 4/7th Royal Dragoon Guards, spent a lot of time in these. He got sent to Aden, and they transferred to Ferret Scout cars... saw a lot of death.. The Conqueror had a manual transmission. On one Nato exercise, a driver fucked up the gear change, and the tank shot down the hill, crashed through a bridge, and ended up at the bottom of a river... they had to haul the bodies out, then carry on with the exercise....the Conqueror was the brit armys MBT in the sixties.... Que Separabit? No one..
Because the others access hatches were welded shut. We understand your concern and demands of more technical details, sadly not all these tanks are in working conditions. It is very difficult to find a model with decent interior. - Blanchard, Wargaming Military Research
I used to drive that very tank at Bovington. I was with the Vehicle and Demonstration Squadron. I was in the 8th and 5th Royal Tank Regiments. I was demobbed at Christmas 1964.
Hi all, totally take all these points on board. It was the first series and a bit of a tester so appreciate all input. Problems we encounter (especially concerning Technical) is the translation into other languages. Feedback from others vids "don't make to long" oh well you cant please all. Vehicles themselves-Some are just not complete enough to discus all parts, for example drivers compartment not accessible and so on.So once again thx for input and will implement next batch .
Well there really is no pleasing some people, I love this series, a brave man attempts do these (have you ever been inside some) I have and they are in poor condition with bits missing all over the place. I am not a tank expert and enjoy it. I look forward to your video, you have made one. i assume ? As for length its a fact that long videos on you tube do not get watched, I feel this is about right. Anyway keep up the good work I for one appreciate all these films about history.
Guys, just to let you know - this video is put in twice for the playlist, it goes 3-2-3 instead of the 1-2-3 it should be. :) Love these videos, more please!
There's a reason the Russians lined up their best tanks on the Cold War front against the British armored divisions, Centurion and Conq squadrons were miles ahead of the Americans.
Saxon Centurion You know that the M48 is actually superior to the Centurion in terms of protection. And the M103A2 didnt have the engine problems the conqueror had. I still adore both british and american designs
Panzerzwerg equally, the chieftain was the most formidable MBT NATO had until the challenger 1 and Abrams. The cent squadrons running around the plains throwing HESH around combined with the conq long support was perfect for Germany. There's a reason the whole world bought cents and used them for 60 years instead of the Patton.
I completely agree. I would add that some action footage would be nice. Nothing special, just a few shots of the tank moving, traversing, firing etc. Perhaps even mentioning the tactics according to which the tank was designed for.
Your comments have been dully noted, your feedbacks are very important to us. This is only episode 3, so I will ask you for a bit on indulgence and patience as we improve this new serie.
Why arent more armoured vehicles available to view from the inside? It's something you rarely see in any video yet they're the most important parts; You can only understand so much from looking at the exterior of a tank but it's almost impossible to understand the conditions the crew were working in if you've not had the opportunity to get inside a tank yourself. Climb inside the cramped fighting compartment of an IS-3 for example and then you'll understand why they had such a long reload time.
So given that the thing that defined this tank as a Conqueror was the fact that it had a 120mm gun fitted why does w.o.t. make you start it with a 20 pounder? Because that's a Caernarvon, a different tank that anyone who's unlocked the Conqueror already owns.
please, don' t switch through the pictures/film so quickly without stopping the video you barely notice any details. 1st half of the video. make some slower camera turns but maybe fewer of the same thing, like in the last few cutscenes, thanks.
could you do it again whit more information. i mean a bit more as the just below basic information does not cut it for me. people like me would like to hear a bit more as basic stuff. for example.. the commander had no way to communicate to the other compartment as you say.. how the hell would day do that.. wel i know how. but a lot of people dont. really love this sort of vid's but plz more information and maybe ask them to start the engine. does not need to drive. just the sound.
oh yeah thx! i do love smartys! how did u knew??!! ahah sry got a little confused! im not one of the ones who spends 1 hour rereading a yt comment to see if it is grammatically correct! (am i making up words?? - when u learn portuguese, u can mock me all u want! xD)
+thetwomountainbikers true hellcats have little armor but they are fast well armed and sneaky so you have to find and then try to hit it first. sneaky td with a 90mm cannon that can go 60mph is something you must be warry of.
+Gunrunner hate to break it to you, but the 90mm on the hellcat was quite rare as it was kind of an experiment, most of the hellcats had the 75 mm instead.
Which has nothing to do with the question I asked. Forza is an Arcade game, do they call a Ferrari 430 a 360? No, because it's a different car. A Conqueror is not a Conqueror without that gun. They do the same thing with the AMX 90, you grind to unlock the tank and you get and AMX 75, the same tank you already own. Arcade game or not some of this stuff is fucking stupid.
You cant just have tanks being already upgraded since then there would be no grind and therefore WG would make no money. Deal with it, it's been like this since Closed beta
i cant imagine the reality of a tank battle, when M4 meets Tiger, Pz IV, and Pz III and when Cromwell and Crusader meets Tiger..those allied tanks were easily penetrated by axis tanks, weren't they?..lol..
The Centurion (And ESPECIALLY the FV4202) would just be unbeatable if it were real life accurate. Unfortunately it's not a Chinese or Soviet tank, so WG would never allow them to be good.
You should put modern tanks play against WWII tanks to see how pathetic u will be more. Oh and Patton was 1st seen war action at the war of Korea in 1960's so how do u get this tank against WWII tanks? Maybe M1Abraams will be worst that Tiger II?
