I'd love more skate shoe videos tbh! Particularly skate shoes as walking around lifestyle shoes. There's plenty of content out there about how they skate, but not a lot in terms of how they wear just for walking around, etc.

the 'es muska originally retailed at $85. his first shoe on Circa retailed for $100. this was not the first skate shoe with rubber lace loops; DC and Evol/Osiris were already doing it. it's been said that Tyrone Olson's signature model on Osiris was the first shoe with stash pockets (they both came out in 1997) the black and red colorway was released in 98. in 98, they added the rubber mesh to the side panel, instead of the fabric.

He also releases his OG MUSKA track pants on his personal website!! Im just mad hype we get to relive the MUSKA era of skating

Man these are classic. Skate shoes in the early 2000’s were killer. Globes, E’s, Etnies, DC, Airwalk even Converse had some great skate shoes. I skated a lot back then but they were still comfortable for every day use. Awesome video guys and thanks for mixing it up a bit!

Hey Chris, hi everyone! I really do appreciate bringing this classic back. I received my pair just a couple a minutes ago, and I am amazed. Just wanted to add, that the Quattro that Chris is mentioning has not the same tooling as it used to have. Back in the day the Quattro and the Sword, shared the same outsole. And the re-release of the Quattro is without Airbags. I assume that Eric Koston has the design rights on the OG Koston 1, and that might be the reason they can not bring it back in its original form. It wasn't the rubber quarter panel that went all the way around the back, but rather part of the the P.U. midsole. They eventually made the rubber cupsole in the heel taller and stitched it to the upper because the heel was separating from the upper. Decent reissue overall, but not perfect. I'm super bummed they changed the geometry of the P.U. midsole on the reissue. The og midsole had more of a curve to it, which made the shoes much more stylized and alive. The sculpted contours looked way better on the og as well. Both the black/red and tan/green are original colorways. The rubberized mesh is also an original feature. The textile mesh build was only on certain colorways. Thx for the skate shoe content!

Yes the red ones were like the 2nd run of colorways. They also came out in a dope brown, and Grey. The 1st colorways blue and black and white

So many comments. I don't know if it was mentioned, but yes. The black red color way is a '97 release color way. I had the black/red color way in '98/7th grade for me. The J4 netting was there on the OG one and the perforated nubuck tongue is OG as well. So far no "new" color way has been announced. All OG color ways so far. White/navy is part of the OG release and the tan/green was part of the spring '98 release along with a Navy/white (which I would love éS to reissue) and all black color way. Hopefully we see the latter two color ways again.

Love etnies and es shoes they wer the pinacle of tech and actually wrre made for skateboarders with the triple stitching heavy laces and toe caps . Plus the cushion for when that board hits the top of your foot or ankles

Wide footer. I have 2 pairs of DC boots, 2 pairs of DC shoes, 1 pair of etnies, 1 pair of eS, and never touched a skateboard. Thinking about getting some mantecas or some Telfords.
