@@bluray76 the radio has a normal radio draw when the key is off. Very small. Would take weeks or even months for the radio to draw a battery down. You may have had lights on or something like that while watching something. Lights will wear a battery down pretty quick.

@@LinksWellInc Thanks for the answer. No I always turn off my lights. But like you said these don’t draw a lot of power? Side note, you gonna get Disney plus, peacock, fandango at home on these soon?

@@aaronmccoy5323 probably not. Most of the 2024 trucks have the new dash. If it’s the new dash it will not work.

Is it our radio? What brand is it? If it’s a different brand it’s a different radio and so things will be different.

I have videos on our channel showing Apple CarPlay working both wired, and wirelessly. If you watch this video I install a Gen 5 which has physical and onscreen controls. Our Gen 4 would only have on screen controls. Neither use the factory controls. On the Gen 5 we replace them with our own.

@@winstonhall1485 if you look through our channel I have videos of the radio doing different things so you can get an idea how the radio functions. 99% of the functions are the same no matter what model vehicle. The model vehicle changes looks and a few factory settings options. But the radio will work the same.

On this truck we didn’t lose any factory features. On one that is more equipped the features we can not retain are: - Ford MyPass app tracking. (The rest of the app works just the tracking is lost) - Trailer back up assist - Auto parallel parking - Rapid heating (for Super Duty diesels equipped with it) - access to change the factory WiFi code and door key pad code.

When I get ours I will. But it may vary by what cameras we get and you got.

You don’t have the radio connected to WiFi or anything right?

@@LinksWellInc I don’t have it connected to WiFi. I had one of those boxes that allowed for wireless car play so i know it uses Bluetooth and in some fashion, the WiFi which is why it disables it on my iPhone. While messing with the settings, I came to an area where it said to scan for WiFi and it was off so I turned it on and it connected. Not sure if that fixed it but I’ll see here when I go turn my truck back on.

@@LinksWellInc okay, this is starting to get frustrating. Hope yall can help me out. My unit will connect to CarPlay if I reboot the system but the moment I turn off truck and try to reconnect, it doesn’t. It plays via Bluetooth but won’t connect to wireless car play. Wifi is off on the unit. I feel like I’ve tried everything. I’ve deleted phone off the unit and my phone and reconnected them many times and the same thing happens.

We are not able to lock down the video on any 3rd party apps like RU-vid.

So there is probably a speed recalibrater behind the cluster that is changing the CanBus and so the 2 of us are colliding and it’s forcing the Cluster to restart. Only way around it to to remove the calibration device behind the cluster.

It’s not a a popular SUV that people do customizing on. So there may be a lot but most Explorer owners leave it stock.

The radio doesn’t remove Forscan. It removes SYNC.

This is the Gen 5. The Gen 5 we changed the bezel to add the buttons for AC and a Volume and Track knob.

It is required to be installed. You don’t have to install it in the console like we did.

That tuner makes it so that you can use SiriusXM as a native source like factory.

@@metalbeast83 so the idea sounds good but unfortunately the profit margin is no where near enough for us to take in old units that no one will buy to give people a cheaper new radio. If we offered this it would raise the cost of each radio significantly so we don’t end up losing all our money in receiving back old used products no one will buy.

@@LinksWellInc right thats understandable , mine has been sitting in the box where i had took it out because i thought i was going to trade my truck an i just didnt see any point in putting it back in.

We sell only to dealers and have open lines for our dealers to call if they need help with their customers (the end users) We don’t have the man power to open lines to end users. We would have to grow our tech team by a lot, which equals over head, which equals high prices. We have a chat option on our website for all users.

@@mrbeatty13able so if you want to use XM you need to purchase the V300 Tuner. That is the tuner all aftermarket radios have to use. Being XMReady means it has the ability to connect to a V300 tuner.

One more thing. The unit seems to be doing great. However, for some reason my rear speakers aren’t working only the front. Is there a video on how to correct this? I have the Sony system

Unfortunately I wouldn’t be able to do that. We do have a lot of dealers that could install for you…. But once you get in there it is pretty easy to see where each harness plugs in. You can follow along with the video for the most part I show the plugs and where each go. Just take your time.

@@LinksWellInc speakers aren’t working, heat is blowing cold air, won’t connect to my phone via Bluetooth, can’t use google maps, blind monitoring error message and shuts down my cluster while driving.

@@WeirdoFamilyGaming so you must have a speed calibrator in your truck that is plugged in behind the cluster. You have to remove it or us. The two of us in the CanBus causes the cluster to Cycle. No Audio - do you B&O? I have a video on installing our B&O adapter. The heat backwards is because you need to program the climate controls. I have a video about programming the Climate controls. Google Maps needs WiFi connection to work. I have a video on default apps and I talk about Navigation in that.

@@LinksWellInc yes B&O, I’ll look for that video. And do you have a video of removing the calibrator? My truck is on a 6” lift with 37” tires. Wouldn’t that throw the actual current speed off?

@@WeirdoFamilyGaming I don’t have a video because it isn’t a thing we would do. You should just need to remove the cluster and then plugged into the back of you you should see some sort of T-Harness with a small data box attached. Undo the T-Harness and you should be good. This is something we have figured out when helping customers with this problem not something we have had in house to do any kind of video. Pulling the calibrator will throw off the speed. That’s what the calibrator does. Is it takes the code from the trucks computer and sends it differently to the cluster. So what ends up happening is there ends up being 2 different sets of speed coding happening between us and the calibrator so it makes the cluster computer crash and reboot. That’s why we can’t live together. There are other style calibrators that work. But I don’t have a list.
