Very sorry to hear you feel this way. We didn't send out units knowingly that they would fail. We really strive to take care of our customers as best as we can. We had an influx of tuner failures that all came in a relatively short time (About 3-4 weeks). We had units that were a week old, others that were 9+ months old. There was no common line in production time. We then went through our entire production line to try and find a flaw in production, but we weren't able to find any production issues either. We went through our software over and over again to see if it was a software issue, to find no problem there as well. We asked questions with our customers to see if we could find a common thread in how the system was being used, or if there was a common thread in outside forces, like vehicle trim, or different electronics in the vehicle. To find no common thread there either. Our Engineers all stopped all work on other projects to figure out what was happening with these tuners. We reached out to our supplier for the tuners daily looking for answers and no one was able to explain what was happening. A month later we still do not know what caused these tuners to fail, nor do we know why it was that about only 10% did. The only common thread was the tuners themselves. So all we could do at that point is change our source and purchase a different tuner. Which is what we did. Our lead engineer spent 3 weeks replacing the tuners in all our stock and our factory is now producing new systems with the new tuner. Once again we are very sorry that you were effected by this issue. We hope to earn your respect back in how we rectify the situation.

Glad you enjoyed the video! And even happier to hear you are considering purchasing a unit for your truck! Currently the only things we can change is the boot up image. With having overlay screens its not as simple as just changing a background images or icon colors. I know this question is one that gets asked a lot so we may be able to offer something in the near future but nothing currently.

They should work via CanBus. No need to connect them. They will work in the programming.

Louis Koerner only set up we have that would work in the 06 is our Universal Double Din 10.1”. Does all the same stuff except the climate control interface. To install you would just need the installation kit and harness adaptors for your truck and it would install like an industry standard double Din radio. The camera should work automatically through the CanBus.

Ray Gomez the GPS cable is needed for both the built in Nav and the Data based Navs. So it is needed.

We have not tested the "Restart" feature, so we cant say for sure about an automatic vehicle restart. We are able to do 90% of the factory remote start features. We can control both the heated and cooled seats as well as the heated steering wheel.

The hotspot will stay, but the accessing the info and passwords is no longer available. We have no way of getting that info onto our screen.

Guillermo Jr find the orange wire on our main power plug that is 1 pin in from the corner. That should be a remote turn on. Splice into that wire close to the side of the plug that plugs into our radio.

@@fx4den540 Steering wheel functions still work with this product. My navigation is now 12.1 full screen in the provider I choose to load up. You have the ability to load apps directly onto the unit. I have Google maps loaded, multiple nav apps, weather channel, etc. As far as music, I did lose sirius..However I now have Pandora, Spotify, etc as well as tons of fm radio presets. It also has a 4 channel amp built in, so my stock speakers (to be upgraded next) now sound better as well.

josue lopez you need to set the radio up in the settings. If you call our tech support Mon-Fri 8-3 PST our techs can walk you through the settings.

I have a 2015 king ranch as well. How did you find a shop that did your install? Also, do you recommend the product overall? I heard some problems here and there. But I love that look. Thanks!

Joe sounds like it might need a MCU and APP update? Could be the steering wheel control protocol that is acting up. Have you contacted our Tech Support team and walked through any updates?

@@karenkatz3728 we are a B to B (Business to Business) manufacturer. We don’t sell to the direct public because we can not service all end users, so your tech support should come from your dealer and if your dealer needs tech support they come to us.

J. Rulison Photography we are still in the production process with XMSirius to give us the ability to control a tuner. Currently the only way to do sat radio is using the app.

So sorry to hear that. The B&O system is a digital system that requires an extra interface and harness. It took us a little but we now have a B&O interface now that will work for the GEN 2. Unfortunately we cant support the same for GEN 1 due to the limits of the CAN BUS interface on the GEN 1.

You don’t need to go into the advanced settings any longer. Go to settings/System/Settings Guide/Car Model AC. Then follow the pages. There is step button step instructions available on our website as well.

@@LinksWellInc yeah I found it with the FB forum. I had to set the protocols to 2013-14 Ford with Manual HVAC. Now have to get the buttons to work to turn on the Pass air bag.

Dave Flores no sir. To small of a margin of vehicles with it to change the production for. Though with all the vinyl wraps available now I am sure you could find a shop that could wrap it for you.

Well legally they can't void your warranty. But the fact that they said this means that if anything should ever happen, they will be looking to place blame on the aftermarket equipment. Its the typical fight between the factory and aftermarket world. We are not lawyers and so please take the time to do some research to be sure you understand what may come from the situation.

Bobby Heimer yep. It will look the exact same. Just won’t have the CD slot in the front of the radio.

@@LinksWellInc so the cables coming out of the back of the CD player, for those who have them, aren't important in the connection process? I was worried that those were main power connection cables from the truck's main harness.

Bobby Heimer they are. But the trucks without a CD player have the exact same radio module it just doesn’t have the CD slot and the internal parts for the CD player. But the radio chassis is still there. As are the same main power plugs.

SiriusXM is proprietary and you have to control their tuner and go through their development process. We have been working through this development process for about 3 years now. I posted an update video last month that we are really close. Generation 5 has all the parts needed physically so once SiriusXM approves our interface our Gen 5 radios will get an update to activate the components to run their tuner. I can’t give any more specific timeline because we have no control of it. It’s 100% in SiriusXM’s hands.

We have been working on developing a Sirius tuner, and are waiting on Sirius to approve us. We are stuck until they decide they want to sell us the remaining lock files we need to make the tuner work unfortunately, it is now out of our hands and we just have to wait. In the meantime the Sirius app works in our CarPlay/Android Auto app or you can use a hotspot and install the Sirius app to the system and run it through the tablet itself.

LinksWell Inc. That’s encouraging! But if I was to order it now, have it installed, would I have to do a hardware update and a second installation once you are approved for SiriusXM radio? I have also checked in my area, the San Francisco Bay Area and I have yet to find anyone who does these installations. I may end up having to come down to your facility in Walnut to get this installed. I have absolutely no talent for this type of work!😩😩😩

@@CJS309 If we can get our design approved there will be a separate tuner needed to that will have to be installed and plugged into the USB of the system. As for our location we are actually located in Southern California in Ranch Cucamonga. But I know we have some dealers up in the bay area when you are ready we can get you hooked up with one.

Lee davis well the idea is that wouldn’t happen. We are however looking into adding some physical button for this and other reasons. Our GM system has physical buttons and we got such a big response on that we are working on adding them on other systems as well.

Well we do not know all the specs of the other companies product. We also do not want to build our name up by stepping on the name of others. All we can tell you is the feed back that we have received from customers, but to boil it down simply, we are based in the US. So we ship from, test in and do our product development here. Giving us an advantage in how well we can service our customers and be sure our products work the best. Most the other companies do all their R&D over seas and ship from over seas. Which means you do not have live customer, or technical support and you have about a 6 week turn around on delivery. We also offer features they do not, one of which will be our new factory Ford 360 Camera full function retention interface set to release this month. We also are able to retain things like factory remote start and other features. Our CANBUS system allows us to do more then most of the other companies out there. We are confident that our products are top notch, that our customer support is one of the best and that our product development and software teams are among the best in the industry.

Not yet, but the install is 99% the same. Only difference is the USB plugs and the fact that GEN 4 has HDMI in and out.

We aren't doing any work on designing a system to retain the factory SYNC system.

@@Npizzola420187 warranty is 1 year. You can pay to have Navigation built in, or you can use the Navigation on your phone through Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. Or you can use a hotspot and do a data based navigation on the radio itself.

Billy Murray it has both Google Chrome and Google Maps. As well as the Google Play Store so you can download more apps.

Luis P. Not currently. Integrating the factory mics offers up some issues, one of which is quality control on our side. It has been talked about but as it sits right now it’s not on the to do list.

So the clock resetting is because you need to set the time zone for the Android radio. So if you go to settings --> More settings --> System --> Date and Time. Then be sure you turn off all the "Auto settings" then set the time zone, don't worry about setting the time, just set the time zone and that will fix the time changing. With the "No GPS" what apps are they and do you have the radio connected to a Hot Spot source?

LinksWell Inc. Thank you, that definitely fixed the clock situation! As far as the GPS goes, yes I have a hotspot device that is mounted in my vehicle & correction, it doesn’t say “no gps installed”, it “says no gps connection.”

Mr. Mont. which Nav app are you using?

LinksWell Inc. I’ve tried Google Maps & Waze both. On my home screen the navigation icon doesn’t respond at all. I have to go into my app list & pick one or the other but neither works..

Mr. Mont. interesting. Is the Nav antenna installed? Is the radio connected to WiFi when you try? Have you tried since you fixed the time? Also to route the Nav icon go to setting and the first page in settings is where it will route the Nav icon. Which ever one you select will be what opens when you press Nav. If it still isn’t responsive. In settings go to the icon with a single gear and make sure the feature “Local Nav” is turned off. Then try the icon again.

That's a strange one.... Any other devices in the truck? Are all the plugs in the correct spots? Sounds like either an issue with CanBus or a physical wire is shorting on run

Drifting Abstract we have a universal Double Din that puts a 10.1” in using the standard double din installation parts. Like install kit and harness.

Our tech support is staffed to help our dealers. We depend on our dealers to help their customers…. We do offer our RU-vid and Social Media pages as a way to try and help bridge gaps. So we do our best. Do you have any extra devices on your truck. Like a tuner, or a start stop bypass. Something that is inside the trucks CanBus?

@@LinksWellInc I bought the truck used and it had this device installed on it by the previous owner. Ergo, I unfortunately am not able to contact the dealer where it was purchased, as I don’t know where it was from. There is nothing additional on the truck. I was literally just driving right now, and trying to use the steering controls, and it would not respond. Had to try and press the tiny little volume control on the top right of the screen to turn it down while driving, which is more dangerous than texting while driving IMO as i have to reach across the dash trying to hit a button the size of a nickel on a 12 inch screen. Then, during the same drive, the steering controls responded and turned the volume back up. A few seconds later, again unresponsive. The issue here is the inconsistency or the functionality.

@@MikayelS so there may be an issue with the buttons themselves wearing out. If the resistance isn’t correct due to wear it will either not register correctly or it may do the incorrect thing. Does it matter what source you are using? Do all source do the same thing?

What front camera? Factory or aftermarket? There is no way to change the back ground page from your iPhone. You can change the launcher which will change how the home page looks and then you can do back ground pictures. But they would have to be on a USB. The radios are set to move files off a phone like that.

Your 360 Camera probably needs the 360 Camera retention module. Apple CarPlay has to be connected to the USB marked Phone link for Gen 4&5 for Gen 2 you need the white USB dongle.

Mike T yes sir. It works the Sony system as well there is an app to control the massage seats and the heated steering wheel is one of the onscreen controls.

Improved from the GEN 1? Not really. The GEN 2 platform runs the same Android platform which is what dictates how quick it can boot up. It does it with a faster processor and much better CANBUS interfacing for the car. As well as a huge upgrade to the climate control interfacing as well. Takes away the need to disassemble the factory climate control for factory parts top swap over, and we redesigned the bezel to accommodate 3 switches across the top for the higher trim level trucks. Our GEN 3 platform offers a "Sleep" mode which gives a quick boot up if its restarted within 16 hours of shut down. But we haven't decided if we will build the F150 (or other vehicle applications we currently have on the GEN 2 platform) on the GEN 3 platform. We may jump to a GEN 4 for all applications. With GEN 4 the sleep timer leaves, due to a higher Android platform, but the boot up time we hope to get down to around 10 seconds. Boot up time is tough, even our cell phones take a bit to fully boot up from a complete shut down and our radios run on the same style platform. Just part of what happens when building on Android platforms, it functions different then a standard radio platform, good and bad, its a computer so needs to boot up, but because its Android you get the Google Play store and all that Android has to offer. But we promise we are working hard on making our units the best they can possibly be.
