Hi! I’m in the process of doing this D16Z6 build; YCP Vitara 75.5 pistons, No notch long rods so the compression is around 8:5.1 instead of 7:6.1 on the standard rods. I’m using the Ferrea 6000 competition intake and exhaust valves, BC springs on stock Z6 retainers and the comp cam stage 2. Z6 crank as I would prefer the extra oil port for the bearings.. head will be ported, polished and skimmed, valve angle 3 to 2, with the adjustable cam gear and cylinder protector.. and because of this video il either get a better oil pump or do the spring method to the z6 pump
Z6 is better for turbo flows, Y8 better is for a high CR N/A build cuz of the combustion camber shape that has less possibility of knockings. Both heads should work with this camshaft. I have a D16W4 head (new version of Y8) with Z6 camshaft and rockers :) The only difference is in the direction of the "fin" in your igniotion device. If swapping between Z6-Y8 you have also to swap direction of the "fin" in your ignition device. Thats all you have to do ;) By the fin i mean this "wedgish" fin that is connecting rod with the ignition device :)
That shit is going to run like shit you didn’t follow any torque sequence and the way you tighten that down to begin with the hand tool wouldn’t recommend.
