That adapter you used to connect the shut off valve to is called the intex "B" adapter the newer pools now come with 2 outlets but they are only 1-1/4 inch hoses ,so if you want to convert them to 1-1/2 hoses and shut off valves that have the screw on fitting you must use the "B" adapter
Nice video, I use only the Haywood skimmer because I think you get more power just using 1 skimmer, but if its working fine for you than this cool.nice job!
I just used your video to do my installation, Thanks. I did notice in your video you're using some of the wrong screws in the face plate. You can see there are flush fitting screws and rounded screws, you are using a mix for your install, when you should just be using the flat flush headed screws only. Doesn't look like it did any harm though.
Noted... yeah I did use the rounded. it was tough puncturing the liner. my 2 girls are tough on the pool and the screws are efficient as I haven't noticed any leaks in the liner around my cutout or the screws. that's awesome to know.
What did you end up doing with the empty inlet that has the plunger valve on it? You actually loosen the hoses and reattach whenever you want to switch from skimmer to filter?
Nice job, there is a much higher volume of water going through that skimmer compared to your older one. Have you noticed any difference in the water cleanliness in regards to stuff floating on top of the water?
Eric Crawford hey ERIC. I know that part was the most trickiest. But I used a intex adapter from intex.com. it has 3 grooves to connect different sizes. It works... no leaks with the ring seal
Thanks Jermaine! I saw those and was wondering if there was a different route I could go and just pick up everything I needed at my local hardware store without using the Intex part. It looks like using that fitting will be the most straightforward way to go. I guess I’ll order a few tonight and finishing installing everything later this week! Thanks again!
@@jermainetheashenone120 Lowe's sells a hose adapter that screws directly into the Hayward skimmer,then you can attach a 1 1/2 or 1 1/4 hose nothing else required,this is a 1 1/2 threaded fitting
William. i bought a board from home depot. spray painted it black. them bought some pvc irrigation tubbing from there as well. sprayed it black. then just rigged a connection from my outlet back into pool.
Jermaine The Ashen One Thank you Jermaine for the info. Nice job I have to want to setup my pool I am getting a fence put in so I am try to figure out how to set everything up mentally.
