Great video and great addition. I recommend instead of a standard light switch you used use a button like access control button. Great job and keep up the great work!

Nice video and installation. My school has got a bunch of these, but I'm unsure if they're connected to the alarm system. But they are pretty cool. Both floor and wall mounted versions.

My high school had these after they renovated for ceiling high fire doors. And some other doors had them. However the stairway doors were always closed. I think those should have also had these magnets. They even set up the system where the fire doors stayed open when doing scheduled fire drills.

my former high school needs to get some door holders along with up-to-date fire doors; since the system is a Simplex 4247 from the early 70s, all they would need is a normally closed relay connected to one of the auxiliary output terminals on the panel. are there any 6 volt AC versions and do they have to be the same output voltage as the signaling devices? I found an ad for some of these magnetic door holders made by Russwin (they trademarked them as the " 'Lectro-Mag") in an Architectural Forum or Architectural Record magazine from 1969! I have no clue when these were invented but I'm guessing sometime in the 60s

Hello great video !!! Can you explain me a bit more the wiring for the relay about the magnetic door
@FireAlarmDude5967
@FireAlarmDude5967 6 месяцев назад
The magnet is powered by 24 VDC, supplied by the fire panel’s non-resettable power source. I wire the magnet through the normally closed alarm relay.
