That’s too bad this corolla wasn’t pre wired for fogs. I remember installing my fog lights under 15 min by replacing the stock turn signals with Matrix turn signal(with fog) switch, with the installation of the fuse, and a matter of connecting the fog lights! Anyways I’m excited to see what’s next!
2 questions. 1. Why not just use a factory fog light switch thats with the headlight switch? Maybe i missed something but looks like its prewired. 2. That cold air intake. Is it the k&n and how did you make that heat shield? I got the same idea for my 06 le
Yeah, fog lights have been working just fine. You could probably be able to tap into the fuse box, I just chose to splice and solder to the gauge cluster dimmer
This is just my two cents but I think the place to wire the power is to the low beam switch, not the dimmer. That way when the high beams are on it curs power to the low beam headlamps and the fogs at the same time
@@midknight2137 Sorry for the late reply, however I followed the video step by step. I quickly fell into the same predicament. You have to fully install the whole kit correctly of course to get it to work to complete the circuit. I'm not exactly sure where your having trouble but one tip I do have is to remove the plastic cover that is in place of a switch it looks like a hook (some people put coins into it). if you take that off you don't have to drill a hole into your dash just use that empty space and the switch looks oem next to your dimmer, mirror and security light.
Awesome vid! I was thinking of getting yellow fog lights for my corolla 2004 but do you think its possible to replace the high beams with a yellow fog light? Hope that makes sense.
I’m not sure if the connectors for the fog light bulbs and high beam bulbs are the same, but if they are, then in theory you should be able to replace the stock high beams with yellow fog light bulbs
Yep, still reply! They're not too dim, and I swapped for LED bulbs later on. Got the fog housings from the junkyard and the wiring kit from eBay, and my switch only comes on once I turn on the ignition, but did glow permanently when I wired it incorrectly.
@@WillChang mines from some reason only glow like a dim candle lol i put leds but its a litlle better but still..... i ended up changing the power source so now that light only on when powered and not constantly
Sorry, I really don’t know what bulbs are installed. I picked these up at a junkyard and the bulbs came with them, and I haven’t looked at what kind they are.
Yep, still reply! It depends on how you look at it, if you wire the fog lights to the same wires that go to the headlights then technically you can run them without a fog light switch, but I wouldn't recommend this since chances are you'll blow headlamp fuses due to the increased load. Best bet is to just install a switch that controls the fog lights, or if you have factory fog light wiring then you can install the turn signal stalk with the fog light switch on it which is super easy.
