Excellent video. I'm getting ready to install the 2.5" Metal Cloak Game Changer Rocksport on my JKU. Watched this several times now making notes and looking at things under my jeep and feeling a lot more confident. Thanks for putting this together. Hope you got to enjoy the lift this past season!
After installing this lift kit with your jeep on a concrete pad, not on a lift, you will discover that the front axle has shifted to the drivers side and the rear axle to the passenger side. To get the axles back into alignment requires that the axle be supported on a swivel wheel dolly and shifted back into alignment with a jack pushing laterally on the wheel mount. Therein lies the problem, there may not be a vertical wall on either side of the jeep to push against. Alternatively you could use a come along, but finding a place to attach both ends is difficult.
Swivel dolly would be a great option but usually I get the position side to side close sitting on the ground. Then take the jeep for a drive and recheck. No matter how close you can get in the garage, it will change when you take the jeep for a drive.
Yeah I think that would work too. I always just get it close because it’s never exactly were it needs to be. Thats why I get it close and drive it then recheck your side to side measurements.
Did you have to drain the brake fluid at all? or add new brake fluid after the install? Everything looks simple enough. Just worried about the brake line part of the install. Thanks!
SUBBED I WILL BE BUYING THE GAME CHANGER SOON BUT NOT ROCKSPORT SHOCKS TO STIFF. IM GOING WITH FALCON ADJUSTABLE SHOCKS. DAM IM GONA BE BROKE , BUT WHAT THE HELL GO WITH THE BEST.
Man,that is a nice lift kit...I have been wanting to get a pair of Metal Cloak triple rate coil springs for the front of my XJ.How does he like the ride now? Anything he wishes he would have done different?
I really like the lift. Ride is great, a bit better than stock ride was. Only thing I would have changed was to get new rims and tires at the same time. Since I am keeping the stock wheels for a while we had to install a rear sway bar drop bracket instead of extended sway bar links and we could not install the front lower shock mount spacers because they would rub on the stock wheels.
@@patrickcullen7798 would the stock wheels still rub if you used some wheel spacers? I might be a weirdo for saying this, but I actually like the stock wheels.😅
Bearded Behr from what I read a set of 1.5” spacers on stock rims give you enough clearance to use the extended rear sway bar links and the front shock brackets.
