In this tutorial I discuss installing a PVC cleanout for a building sewer. I discuss fitting options for shallow cleanout installations and fitting options and arrangement for deep cleanout installations.
Thanks! AND at this time, I'm ALSO considering how I can modify the final top connections for this new needed clean out, so that the Clean out can be used for 2 possible future uses of: A handy yard Sink! An RV holding tanks drain to sewer line hook up! I believe these should be considerations for a job well done for installing clean outs. Additionally the yard sink can maintain the awareness of where the clean out is when needed! Also label the clean out if we can like if it's next to a fence, mark the fence with an arrow pointing to the clean out, so any gardening in that area is done carefully. A discussion of this in another video would be great.
My experience: a drain/sewer line 3ft deep and deeper that is clogged will benefit greatly from the double wye configuration. I typically use an Electric Eel machine that runs an 1-1/4" cable; however, if I'm using the Ridgid K7500 drum machine with 3/4" cables I have greater flexibility in the cable so I didn't need the assistance of the wye as much. So, to directly answer your question, I consider any drain cleanout 5ft deep or deeper very deep for the purpose of installing a two-way cleanout tee.
That’s absurd my company “Honest Abe’s Plumbing and Clean out Installations” are prepared to handle the installation for you and go as low as $2,499.00
In my application, having clay sewer pipe on both sides can those fittings connection fittings shown in video work? Also should we not use abs pipes for plumming? Thought pvc is not good for plumbing and longevity.
The mechanical fittings are used when installing a cleanout in an existing system where you are "pipe locked" and don't have axial movement to enable the use of regular solvent weld fittings. Please always refer to your local plumbing code when installing plumbing fittings. The plumbing code that is approved for your area will list approved joints.
According to Furnco.com the bands should be tighten to 60in lbs. I typically use a Ridgid R31410 Torque Wrench but there are "tricks of the trade" such as setting a drill chuck to slip at close to tightness with a 5/16" nut driver that can be used to greatly improve efficiency on larger jobs.
Yup, don't use a 2 way Clean out on a pipe that is too deep. Because once that line gets clogged you can't see nothing or know what direction the cable or hose bladder is going...so it's better to use the the 2- 4 inch combo littys...
get rid of those rubber fernco's. the 2 big 4" combo's dont allow visual but do allow cleanout towards street and poop stopper overflow towards house. snake easy on deep cleanout if you know how to use the snake .BUT with all that said-i dont care you keep preaching cause so many from old days ignored code about cleanouts.. so anything that will make them add it like they supposed to helps-appreciate it.
