Installing steel stems so I can run more air pressure in my tires. Obviously your tires need to be rated for whatever pressure you are running. Check us out on Facebook! profile.php?... Amazon Store www.amazon.com/shop/axe/list/...
Bought some Allstar Performance bolt-ins identical to those. They only have the logo on the packaging, no literature with them. Had no clue wtf the extra grommet was for. Thank you. That was the only question I had and it took me several videos to find the explanation. I had wondered silently to myself about those damn extra grommets for the past few months and tonight I finally broke down to search for the answer. Again, thank you. One of those stupid curiosities that keep you up at night.
I bought the exact same stems and installed one wrong. Your vid showed me I didn't need to put the included extra rubber grommet on the outside of the rim. I'll correct that today and install it correctly with a LOT less wrestling to get the metal washer down below the threads this time! Thank you!
I installed a set on another trailer in the spring of 2017. They still don't leak a bit. Maybe it depends on where you buy them? I got mine at oreilly auto parts.
Is this supposed to be the correct order of assembly? I've always put the valve stem through, rubber seal on the outside facing inward, washer, then nut. The way you put the rubber on the inside of the wheel, I'd have to put the washer directly on the wheel on the outside, destroying my powder coating in the process.. More than one way to skin a cat I guess..
It's the way I've always done it. However I've only ever installed them on steel trailer wheels. Your probably doing it correctly. Both ways do work however. I've never had one leak.
What black magic did you do to get that tire bead seated by only inflating it?!? Maybe it was just camera angle and shadow… But it certainly looked like you had a giant gap between the rubber and the rim….🤯😐
Thanks for vid. Please tie or strap tire down when popping bead. Rim can explode out of tire and kill you. My friend did this and ended up in intensive care for 6 months. Be safe guys.
