Came across your video, I currently have a DR900x from Blackvue, and have NOT as yet installed the Blackvue Battery, which I would be installing in my new BYD ATTO 3 Electric Car... I am thinking about buying a complete new setup, as I currently have the DR950 with IR for the front as I am an Uber Driver, and the DR750 for the Rear....these cameras have come in very helpful many times hen the police had to be called to 2 Nose to Tail collisions, and one with the IR camera recording a guy laying into his girlfriend, in the backseat....of my uber, this recording was able to be downloaded, to the tablet, then shown to police who recorded on their body cams, WOW!! amazing Technology. I will be doing a complete install of the new cameras in the new BYD Electric car, as I am leaving the old DR900x in the Outlander as it would go with the car when it gets sold, this way it will increase the price somewhat when sold...the new cameras, I will be installing the Battery module, and the LTE hotspot module as well, so that my car is always connected... I was very impressed in your video, showing in real time, how quick it is, and the easy pairing, thought WOW, so bloody fast, and the download speeds as well, amazing....thank-you for the informative video,
My dash cam ( DR-770 ) is not hooking up to my wifi. It's only w month old and was professionally installed. Also have the B-130 battery. Camera is very warm to the touch but doing nothing else. Lights sometimes go on for a bit bu then lights go off and nothing works. Any trouble shooting suggestions? I did disconnect the power and rebooted my wifi. No success yet. Hate to go back to the installer because it is a long distcane and all all day trip.
If I do not have a cloud plan and my camera is connected to a home network, would I still receive parking mode notifications? Also, what Samsung SD card do you use/recommend?
With all of their recent changes and updates to the way the app works, I don’t know. You used to be able to do it, but I haven’t tried it in a long time. I’ll have to check and get back to you. This is the card I use. amzn.to/3NbZCg9
Have you figured out a 3rd party battery solution vs what blackvue has to offer? My dream setup would be using my BlackVue bat with an expanded 3rd party, as long as it’s safe to do
Can i ask, may seem a stupid question...but if youre washing the car for hours wont it go into parking mode or should you turn the oarking mode off everytine you wash it
I have a T-Mobile sim card already active on a tablet plan...I was using for my aftermarket radio, but when I put it into the camera, it says it sees it and tells me congrats....but I still dont have lte cloud connection????
What SC card did you use? I just inserted the 128 gb SD card and the cam keeping saying check SD card. I even tried a 64 gb and same thing happens. Card is correctly installed and tried several time to remove, re start cam and reinstall. P.s my dash cam is the 650 - 2 ch tho.
Nobody replied to problems because they don’t have an answer. The app is junk and makes the camera half useless. That’s a deal breaker if anyone reads this.
@denttime seems like its user error, not the app. I can use the app with zero issues. You ok? No one replied to you because there aren’t issues with the app. 🤦♂️

@@denttime like I said, it seems like user error in a majority of these cases. I’ve installed a bunch of these for friends and coworkers, and have yet to run into these “issues”. So again, user error seems like it’s the issue and not the app. Do I like the redesign compared to the previous version? No. The older app was actually easier to navigate.
@@EastCoastJeepSRT I consider myself quite proficient with technology. I’ve also installed a Nextbase system in my Hellcat and have encountered absolutely no issues with the installation or the app, which I found to be very user-friendly. Moreover, upon reviewing comments from other users, it’s clear that several others have experienced similar issues. This suggests that the problems mentioned are not isolated incidents but are affecting multiple users

I have plenty of videos explaining that. You need a portable wifi device in the vehicle or a subscription plan and a SIM card for one of these dashcams. You’ll also need one of their batteries for Parking Mode that will continue to power the camera after the vehicle is off. I don’t recommending using your cars battery to do it even though you can set the camera to turn off when the battery in your car drops to a certain level
I have to say the app is not that easy to use. I have older BlackVue and going back and forth with the connections is not ideal when I want to view a file or make adjustments. Maybe it’s better than other brands, but…. The cameras themselves are great. So far I have not used the cloud plan they have. I do wonder, if there was a crash and the camera or card was damaged, it would be nice to recover the video of the event if it were I continuously uploaded to the cloud. I need to research this more, but I really would like to upgrade to theses new 4k cameras.
Why doesn’t anyone admit the app is junk and makes the camera half useless. Taking mine back and using a GoPro 11. Thanks BlackVue for getting customers to buy it with no support. 😒
Yes. And the update is never very straight forward as the app is laggy as hell and you have to sit an eternity in the car until the camera wants to cooperate and go through the update.
Don't keep valuables in your vehicle or other important things. Dash Cam is not meant for Security unless you can enable it for Instant Alert Notification / Live Video to your Smartphone when someone is tampering or real close to your vehicle. Look into Arlo, Lorex, Cobra brands for Outdoor Surveillance Cameras to mount at home. Nighttime hours are most critical because practically all Dash Cams have poor image quality at night.
You can never have enough security or deterrence on your vehicle. I have a built in center console safe, a 4 channel camera setup that is always live so the second someone opens a door or smashes a window I get an alert, and at home if I don’t park in the garage there are three Nest cans facing the drive away from different angles. My FOB is kept in a Faraday Bag or aluminum foil to prevent the signal from being jacked, and I rerouted the OBDII port out of sight. I have a steering wheel lock for away from home
The data and cloud plans for Blackvue are ridiculous. Around $24 for 3gb of data using LTE a month and $12 a month for unlimited live viewing. Ring car cam offers $60 for the year with 2gb data per month.
@@EastCoastJeepSRT I do..yet a t-mobile SIM card is $10 a month for LTE and still $12 a month thru blackvue is rather excessive. In comparison for $60 per yr thru ring which includes data n cloud.
@@capitalr8649 that camera lacks so much you pay for what you get. One, the front facing camera is only 120 degrees wide. Not bad, but not the industry standard of 130-160. It’s also only 1080p and the quality is terrible. Good luck grabbing a license plate from that footage. Speaking of footage the camera lacks a spot for a local sd card so you HAVE to have a subscription in order to download the files which aren’t stored locally. Takes about 2 minutes to download a 20 second clip. That’s ridiculous. Moving on, the camera lacks a rear facing camera so if you’re rear-ended you have to rely solely on the in-cab facing camera. Oof. Then let’s talk about Parking Mode. This camera draws directly from your cars battery which I HIGHLY advise against. There’s no other way to power this camera except for plugging directly into your OBDII port so if you have a CarLock or DiabloSport Trinity tuner plugged in you’re SOL. Lastly the mount is absolutely terrible. The only way to mount the dashcam is by wedging it between your windshield and dash so in all the clips you’ll see the mount and catch a horrible glare from the windshield. The Ring Dashcam is not a top tier dashcam compared to what’s in the market, but if you need to save a buck, don’t forget what I said. You pay for what you get. No thanks. I’ll pay a little more for better quality and a better camera. Even the Thinkware Q1000 or Rove R3 is better than the Ring cam
@@EastCoastJeepSRT You made valid points yet, I only need my ring car cam for the interior theft feature. All cams on the market now only offer 1080 for the inside cabin with infrared. I don’t care about using it as an ordinary dash cam to read license plates, parking assist or rear cam, etc..For $60 a month and clarity enough to notice a break-in with facial recognition will suffice for me. Plus the Ring app is awesome and super user friendly and I can download unlimited footage to my phone in the same fashion as my ring doorbell. The wedge feature works fine to me because the wires are tucked and unseen. My windshield is tinted and I don’t have any glare. The usage of my OBD port is fine in my truck as well. My truck is already tuned and no need for that port unless my engine light comes on. Then i can quick disconnect and diagnose any issues.
I have a blackvue DR900X PLUS 2CH. It's utter garbage. After the late software update and app update it's been made useless. Wrong time and date, the front and back recordings are separated (which is stupid if you ask me), it takes ages to get the damn camera to show the footage on the app and it takes the patience of a saint to find the right recording.
Look up the definition of “install”. The first definition is literally “place or fix (equipment or machinery) in position ready for use.” What else would you want us to call what we did besides using the proper language?! ffs no is ever happy. Figure it out yourself.
