I have the same clutch kit on my 900 S with 28" ITP Bajacross tires. I agree with everything Neil has said about this kit. Takeoff and backshifting is a lot stronger. My stall is around 1800-1900 now and is not that noticeable from stock stall. And clutch has a grabbier, torquier, smoother feel to it. Its worth it $$$. Especially if you are going to a larger tire. It will put a little smile on your face !
which quadboss clutch kit are you installing? There are 5 listed on their website -the mudder clutch kit, the sport utility clutch kit, the economy clutch kit, the sand dune clutch kit, or the utility clutch kit? by the way all your videos are awesome and very informative thanks for putting them out there.
It feels considerably different. Take off is a lot smoother, stall rpm is a couple hundred rpm higher, and it pulls stronger feeling like it is in a little lower gear. I haven't gotten to ride it a lot but that's my first impressions.
jbeard82 it helped enough I ordered one for my ranger! It keeps the belt tighter for smoother and stronger take offs and keeps it tighter longer on decel so it has better engine braking. It also removed the noisy clutch chatter on decel. Well worth the investment.
It does make a noticeable difference for sure. The stiffer springs raise the stall just a little and grab the belt better while the lighter weights let the motor rev a little more to give it a lower gearing feel. I love mine. I debated on going with an adjustable kit to start with but now I am glad I didn't, this kit is great right out of the box
+Neil Davidson Hey Neil so do you think this is the right kit for my tire size. I was debating on the sand dune kit cause I ride the dunes about 50% of the time. I'm about ready to order.
+Npizzola420187 I don't know what the difference is between the two, I haven't considered the sand kit. I would think the mudder kit would be set up for more like end and the sand would be for more top speed but I don't know.
Do not not not not not clean the clutches with any sort of solvent or oil. They will hold this material inside the pores of the clutches and cause slippage between your belts and clutches. Only clean with hot water and soap. Clean the belt the same way. You'll never have anything hit harder than that if you do it this way.
