Installing Toyota Tacoma Running Boards

Hello,
In this video I've detailed the steps you'll need to take to install OEM or aftermarket running boards on your Toyota Tacoma. These specific running boards are OEM Toyota products, part number PT767-35190. They are cast aluminum with a heavy duty grip finish in black. They mount with 6 (on each side) 13 millimeter bolts.

Any idea what year these running boards were released? I know there’s an older model released in 2005. Trying to figure out if these are those or if they’re the newer model that shows on Toyota’s website when searching accessories.

That is a good question, I think these are from 2019. I bought them used so I can say for sure.

Is the running board wide enough to stand on and load boards on roof with door closed?

Yes! That was actually a prerequisite for me...I wanted to be able to stand comfortably on the running boards while loading up my roof racks. These boards are nice and wide...perfect for that.

What year is your Tacoma, and is your running boards interchangeable between 2nd and 3rd generation Tacos.?

It is a 2021....and I don't think these boards would fit the other generations. There are small differences that would make it difficult.

Do you have the torque specs for the bolts that mount to the body ?

I'm sorry, I don't have to torque settings, I'll see if I can locate those. I usually go by feel on most of the bolts I'm tightening, but I know it is important to go by factory specs when installing add ons.

Probably is a cost issue with Toyota but probably also due to a lot of variety of options.

Aloha! I found these slightly used on Craigslist...I paid $250. I thought that was a decent deal after looking them up on the Toyota website. I think they are like $600 through them. Seems a little steep!
