It's War of the Spark week in Instant Deck Tech land, but it's also Fishbowl Thurday! As such, today we're looking at a super spicy viewer submitted deck for War of the Spark Standard: Temur Land Fire! At this day and age there shouldn't be an excuse not to show the deck in action in either MTG Arena or MTGO. I think that is the only thing this series needs.

Like any prerelease deck, it could probably use some streamlining and tuning, but it definitely looks interesting! I had forgotten about Growth Spiral which seems like it could be quite good with evolution Sage. I would use Evolving Wilds over Field of Ruin, though. They both effectively cost 1 mana to use the ability, but Evolving Wilds works on turn 1 and doesn't require my opponent to have a non-basic in play.

I've actually cut Field of Ruin for Blast Zone. Found Field to often be underwhelming, and have had decent success with Blast Zone

Why the thing that turns lands into shocks seems much better as you could kill that turn. Kills instantly instead of in 5 turns with domri ult. The picking the up the ones you pick up and discard. Been using it in the old frenzy explore and it's fairly good.

Why not vivian over domri? Her emblem works better than Domri's with swole lands

Having played a bit with evolution Sage, this deck will be able to ultimate Domri on turn 5 a reasonable amount of the time if Evolution Sage is in play. Vivien is 5 mana which makes a big difference and her ultimate requires Nissa creating lands to be useful. Domri's ultimate just wins the game on its own. Domri is a terrible planeswalker, but you're not playing this deck if you're trying to spike a GP or MCQ, so playing a few bad cards seems fine.

@@ecoKady I built a blue green version that's focusing on abusing Nissa's ult by cheating her out as quick as possible and using as many land cheats as I can afford. Getting her to ult the second turn isnt hard and having trample on your dudes from vivian is nice to close out a game

Settle the Wreckage feels really, really bad in a deck that tries to swing in with the lands for a kill. Still, it might be better than Ral in the deck as an alternate win con.

Why do people keep thinking Scapeshift brings the lands it tutors for untapped when it clearly states otherwise? Like, I've seen plenty of streamers saying it and getting corrected or thinking it and then punting.

Scapeshift brings them tapped, but chapter 3 on Mending is untapped

@@cayleighkitchur264 Ok, this is what happens when I put videos as a backdrop instead of paying close attention, you are right. It's still a pattern I've noticed in the videos of other players, but Seth didn't mess it up here.
