works great. i love that it has stainless steal pot inside ru-vid.comUgkxG-7WiT7ocumjytOpHDFt632PL0pxXRAg and not the one with coating. we used to have a coated pot before, and the coating slowly peels, and i am sure went into the food that we cooked. Absolutely love stainless steel, and will not use a coated product again.This pot has many settings and many buttons, and i need to sit down with a manual to figure out which setting to use. I used the basic functions, and even though i am not technologically skilled, i turned it on and assembled it without any help.Very satisfied with this product overall.

This was goulash when I was a kid. We sometimes (often) ate it for several meals in a row when we were low on money. I still love it despite that!

Almost the same. American Chop Suey usually has Italian seasoning and bell peppers. American Goulash lacks Bell peppers and uses paprika for seasoning. However they are almost identical otherwise.

Definitely making this more often. This was my first meal made in my instant pot. I had it for 4 months now. Made hard boiled eggs but nothing else. I was a little intimidated at first. But after watching you I mustered up the courage and it came out amazing because of you!!! Thank you 😊❤️

Growing up my mom made a similar goulash. She made it when we were broke broke. I think she said she could make it for $2.00 and it fed my brother and I. There was enough left over for breakfast. When we were just broke we would put it on buttered bread. It became comfort food to my brother. He continued to make it once a week. Probably out of habit! LOL

Absolutely loved the recipe but just had 1 comment. I received an error message on my IP when I went to cook the meal but I later realized it was due to the sauteing process. I should have made sure to scrape the bottom of the inner pot to make sure nothing was stuck after sauteing the onions and green pepper with the olive oil. This is common to happen (from what I looked up lol). Just wanted to give this little FYI to anyone else if it's there first time sauteing like how it was for me. Other than that the meal was delicious!!

This recipe is crazy good! I made it this past weekend and everyone loved it. Awesome as usual! My mom and grandma called it American chop suey. I believe the flavor is way better in the instant pot.

I'm with Richard, I've always called it chili mac, even though it's not chili. My mom used to make this and I've carried on the tradition. Yummy!

Just made this... so good! I even found the Borsin at my store on sale for $2 off! Bought a couple and will have no trouble using them before the end of mar, ha! Thanks for sharing these recipes. I am not a great cook, so simple, delicious meals I can make will keep me eating well and save me money from eating out all the damn time.

Thank you for the term 'Goulash'! We had that often in my family growing up. It's a family favorite. I supposed if you weren't raised on it, it might look like a poor man's meal (we were poor, I just didn't know it). I love this dish! =)

I've wanted to make this since you posted this and did finally tonight. OMG It was delish! I didn't have high expectations at first but since everything you have tastes great I tried it. This will be a family dinner in rotation for sure. I did use canned San Marzano peeled tomatoes and crushed them with my hands for the crushed part. Nothing like those boxed meals at all.

Cooked this up for the family this evening. When I had this as a kid, it tended to be a fairly bland tomato sauce and pasta dish. Your recipe has way more flavor. Another winner Jeff!! I went with a couple optional tablespoons of Crystal hot sauce, but didn't add in the optional Boursin cheese. I might try that next time. We have both your cookbooks and love them. Looking forward to the next one.

You're so right about the simple things in life. I think we have all come to appreciate them even more during these trying times. This looks so delicious. My wife uses our instapot 3-4 times a week. She's really good at it, too. She was a chef when we met 35 years ago, so she can REALLY cook. Call me 'Mr. Lucky.'

Mom made this and it was called Johnny. She would add a tablespoon or two of sugar that cuts the acidity and gives a slight sweetness to it Delish!

I love this stuff and havent made it in about ten years. Im inspired to make it tonight but this time in the instant pot and adding boursin! I was married in 1956 and it was about all i knew how to make. We had to have it with a slice of soft white bread spread with lots of butter. My husband is 91 years old now and his taste buds are ready for old fashioned comfort food. So thanks THIS is it.

That's so funny because I was going to make that tonight. I always called it Macaroni & meatsauce or Pasta Bolognese. But I like the name American Chop Suey, very patriotic! My mom called this Slumgullion, or just Hamburger Macaroni. Made on the stovetop (no IPots in the 1950s). No matter what it's called...it's good

Yes!! Johnny Marzetti. I’m from Ohio and my Grandmother made it. I believe it originated from Marzetti’s Restaurant on High St , Columbus Ohio...my home town. 😊

I have learned more from you in ten minutes on how to use my Instant Pot, then I did in months. The Pot intimidated me until I found your channel. I add a pinch of chili sauce and we, like Richard, call it Chili Mac. Yum.
