INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ODOMETER REPAIR ON A 2000 FORD F150 

omg totally awesome, you just saved me $680.00 my local shop wanted to charge me because he couldn't read my mileage to do my inspection. I told him "no way I'm paying that..." he tried to convinced me but when I said I was going on-line to see what I could learn he totally shut-up and stopped talking. Now know why - ten cents worth of solder and some time to remove the cluster - Are there no honest repair man left who tell the truth?

This fix saved me $650 from the dealership. I already had everything to fix it. Thanks!!!!!!

Fixed mine today. Thank you so much. Auto shop wanted $1100 to install new and reprogram. I just spent $23 on a soddering gun. Awesome!!!

Fantastic! Taking the dash apart is the most difficult part of the whole procedure. Would have been back together in 45 minutes, except I had to locate a replacement bulb for an indicator. Doubled the time just driving to the autoparts store and identifying the bulb.

Worked just like shown in video, getting cluster out was not a hard as I thought it would be, will cluster was out after the fix I turned cluster over and removed front clean plastic and cleaned out all the dust unit is replaced in truck working great and looks like a new cluster with dust removed and clean clear cover.

your vid helped me, thanks! mine is 99 model f150... the first and last joints were definitely cracked, but also three others were suspicious, so re-soldered them and a few others on the board that looked iffy... everything works now and i can go and pass emissions... who knew they needed to be able to read the odometer to even begin to do my emissions test, i thought i was just gonna sweep the issue under the rug, but oh well, was easy enough. big government bastards.

My speedometer says I'm doing 70 MPH as soon as I take off and it stays there! I've also had all kinds of problems with my interior dome light staying on for a very long (20 minutes) time as well as my door locks not locking when I put it in drive (like they use to). Also my door ajar light now stays on! I have an 2003 F250 super duty!

Do you know what bulbs go in this circuit board? I had this same issue and fixed it, but wanted to replace the lights while i had it apart. Can't find the lights/sockets anywhere.

do you know what the issue is with a 2004 F53 rv chassis, speedo only works at higher speeds, about 60-80 km/h and higher? I'm thinking it's a bad speedo motor but it could be a solder joint as well. have you run into this before? Thanks

My odometer doesn't work most of the time and every now and then when I drive for a long distance it will start working...does this sound like a soldering issue also?

Thanks for the video. I have a 2000 mustang. I had this problem of my odometer display blinking out.I did this but afterwards my trip/reset button stopped working. When I push the button the trip miles does not appear (it was working prior to the repair). All it shows is my car mileage. I took the face off the cluster and removed the reset knob and pushed with my finger and it still did not bring up the trip miles. Have any suggestions on the problem?

Yes I TOOK The Cluster All A Part AND Couldn't FINED A Crack On The board.on A 2007 van.

This soldering technique worked on my 2006 f150 also. Poor quality control at ford's supplier.

Besides the odometer, my oil pressure and gas gauge come and go as they please.

Repair the mileage too .. LOL

Only problem, it still doesn't work.

It was not cluster its the failure of fuse box system need check the security system of fusebox now its fixed in my ford 07 but pretty expencive 😰1000 dhs
