I know how hot a small Pilot area gets from the full day sun. I put in pull up locking 1" s/s posts on the outside side and on the roof. To place a parallel sunscreen trap with s/s grommet holes and stretched over areas. Made the trap take the sun heat, in the 1" void the wind blew between trap and boat fiberglass. Cooling a lot free. Some Like this but fit lower to the boat so you can walk bye. Like a raised 1 inch high skin.

Great job. I would suggest three things. 1 - add tablets to the ac pan for buildup of slim 2 - Get a pig tail for the power cord so it isn't upside down. They come in different lengths on amazon. Then you can zip tie the cord securely. 3 - Add some ceramic tint to the windows. I have on my car and its amazing. It's pretty much transparent, but blocks 99% of UV and the heat is drastically reduced. You can install it yourself.

I am glad you brought up this high heat issue. I installed a similar a/c in my 25 foot boat's aft cabin and the a/c worked good at night or under my boathouse, but once outside in the extreme heat the exhoust hose heated up to 130 creating too much heat for the a/c to compensate. I will try insulating the hoses along with the exhaust fan. Thank you for sharing the information to possibly solving this issue.

Good work, as usual. You might get even better results by enclosing that area in closed cell insul board like you used in your camper van conversion. Since this is in a boat, wet environment, XPS extruded polystyrene would be a good choice. in 1" thickness it has an R5 rating

And do you thing go out Goverment Cut or Virginia Key. WOW MEMORIES MOM US TO TAKE ME THERE IN THE EARLY SEVENTIES. 1970 -1976 IT WAS called Los Pinitos back then. I was 2,3,4,5 years old. Good idea to get rid of heat sources, but I would be concerned that the blower motor cannot dissipate the 135 deg which now turns into 160, (or more), and shortens the life of the motor. Next video, get a probe and penetrate the insulation and see how hot it gets.
@OutOnTheReef
@OutOnTheReef 5 лет назад
That's a great idea but when I bought this blower it said it was made for a furnace also so is able to handle Heat and cool but I know it has a temperature limit on it and I believe it's a hundred and sixty degrees once it reaches that temperature the blower will shut off automatically and I've been running it for days on my last trip and nothing has shut down yet so it looks like it's not reaching 160 degrees yet

@OutOnTheReef
@OutOnTheReef 5 лет назад
@@masdbo that blower is 351 CFM I place the link in the description below , it draws a lot of hair but I would recommend putting a 6 inch hose I had a 4 inch at the end because the 6-inch will not fit on the side walls of the boat but a 6in will be the best to get all that 351 CFM blower power

That way your lights and anchor alarm along with A/C could all run on the genertor.. and also u would have the option of AC if u got a slip one night . Bc I'm sure u couldnt run a generator at a slip...I'm just thinking. I've seen some after market stuff from "EZ acdc" that had a shore power panel that had 2 outlets on it.
