Going through threads all day and later on stumbled up on your video over a quick youtube search Really Helpful & solved my problem in a minute. Thanks a lot random stranger over the internet.
Rick, Thank you so much for this! I had a Lenovo IdeaPad Z710 without a battery come in. Ran into this issue. Edited the file as you said and worked like a charm! Took customer from BIOS Version 35WW to 96WW!
@@rickstechrepairs I stand corrected, it simply bypassed the initial check within windows but as soon as the system rebooted, a battery check initiated and said bios failed due to battery not 30% charged /present.
@@coryscomputerrepair you can got to windows device manager > battery > disable windows acp power option . This will detach the battery totally from windows. Then you can use the vide trick. I also got this issue. I fixed it with this method.
@@RAZY03 that works within windows but there is a second check when the update forces a reboot and the process starts in POST. I ended up buying a battery and charging the customer for it and performed the upgrade.
it worked perfectly on my lenovo g400s. thank you very much for the instructions. In addition to solving my problem, it also brought me knowledge. thank you again
Chuwi vi10 With the problem that there is a bug in the BIOS and does not show the battery, I solved the problem with the firmware from under the OS. THANK YOU!
Hey there, I cant seem to find the specific temp file for the H2OFFT application and i was hoping you help. are there any other names for the temp file?
Hi i did it but i've got another problem which is still there since the beginning : "Get support mode fail in SMI" / "BIOS did not support InsydeFlash" It appears that my toshiba satellite bios is too old (2009-2010) ... I couldn't upgrade any of the listed versions , even coming from official toshiba website... Im still trying to contact them , without this flash update i won't be able to use my SSD of 4tb ... But just the partition of 2tb instead.
Unfortunately it did NOT work. The file gets overwritten every time I run the .exe file :/ EDIT: I got the InsydeFlash version for "Lenovo IdeaPad Z710", renamed the .ini file to platform.ini (platforms.ini was getting rewritten) and managed to trick the utility to run... but the system just restarts and nothing happens 😅
@@rickstechrepairs I even created a bootable DOS USB as they recommend on their page and the only thing I got after running the file was one word... "Test" 😅
Make sure you are running the InsydeFlashx64.exe program from inside the temporary folder you copied. Re-running the downloaded program will always extract new files.
@@rickstechrepairs it works for me to update Bios. Thanks Do you have any solution to fix battery 255 percentage error and plunged in/ not charging? Thanks a lot 🙏
hey, i continue with the same error... my temp file is kinda different, it shows another ini file platforms its the same as platform but everytime i try to exec (InsydeFlash) it will erase all my changes
Have you copied the tmp folder on the desktop? It had a slightly different name on my machine. In platform.ini I had to change "Flag" and "BatteryCheck" from 1 to 0 After saving platform.ini You just have to double-click H2OFFT-Wx64. That's it. ---------- [AC_Adapter] Flag=1 BatteryCheck=1 BatteryBound=30 ;Flag (wsWS) ; default : 1. ; 0 : Don't check AC. ; 1 : Check AC.
You are looking in the wrong folder. There will be two temporary folders created - one extracts a file, and the other extracts the updater from that. Check the other 7z* folders in that temporary directory, and one of them has the platform.ini file.
