This time they relied on the pull enemies to lovers troop has. I think they would rely on humor(Pen and Colin) or class struggle stuff(Benedict) and social issues(Eloise) . each season would have the tone of its own and in a way separated from the whole. I feel like if they keep Anthony and Kate around till the end there would be the problem of them overshadowing the new main characters sometimes. I personally can't imagine myself not skipping Coiln's screen time. No idea how they plan to make "that" interesting.

The source material was way better. Bridgerton series book fans consistently rate Kanthony story as top favorite, followed closely by the Polin story. The Duke and I is around 5 or lower in the ranking of the 8 books. Nevertheless, Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley nailed were more than up to the challenge. They nailed it.

@@TrophyReacts Uhm, sorry, not sorry. 😅 J.B. over acted and under performed in this and as I haven't seen him in anything else I am not sure if the blame should go to him or the directors. Oh, wait no, I watched Broadchurch but that role didn't give him all that much to do. I am inclined to lay a lot of blame on the directors though because he sure wasn't the only one with that problem this season.

I've seen that interview but I still think it will be Benedict. When he was closing his painting set at the end of Season 2 it had the same energy as when at the end of Season 1 Anthony strongly declared in front of Simon and Daphne that he was going to fulfill his duty and find appropriate wife. But yeah, everything is possible.

Agreed. When colin said at the end he would never court penelope. That was then first chapter of their book. So I definitely think they are next

@@alicevl4013 I believe they will combine two of the books so it’s two people at the same time. Like Benedict and Colin at the same time and then Eloise the next season or Eloise and Colin at the same time and then Benedict. I believe the show is already signed for 4 seasons so they will have ensured that they got through the tv fans favorite characters that are semi developed at this point. In the background, sub plots will be them trying to build up the younger three kids, KAnthony and other married couples in the background, and other stuff. By the end of season 4, Netflix will decide if they actually need three more seasons or less.

I never would have thought in season 1 we would see Penelope and Eloise dragging each other like this, but the show really did a good job of building towards that confrontation. And the actresses killed it.

I think Edwina should marry Prince Fredrich. He’s a sweet, lovely man, she’s a sweet lovely woman. The Queen loves them both. Also, need Edwina in Season 3!

I’m with you there, something about Pen character has always been off to me. Eloise just come off as spoiled and entitled, she just need to grow up a bit.

But I think that's really cool, actually. Pen starts off as a shy, kind girl, so it's cool that she's more of a grey character

S2 is not superior to S1 to me... They are equally... Each romance line has his own charm and astonishing chemistry between the two leads...

Being completely honest THEY DESTROYED THE CHARACTER OF PENELOPE IN THIS SEASON... I DO NOT MIND THEY COMPLETELY CHANGED THE BOOK STORY OF THE LEADS (unlike the S1) BUT THIS SPECIFIC CHANGE WAS TERRIBLE TO ME

Eloise didn’t have some secret enterprise like Pen, but I don’t agree that she is all talk. Not this season at least. Eloise talks a lot about women’s rights and how ridiculous society is and I actually think she acted on those beliefs this season. She went to the rally to hear about women’s rights and sought out like minded people. She also struck up a friendship with Theo and told him she likes him even though they are from different social classes. The only reason Eloise stopped going to see him was because of Pen’s manipulations. She also traveled around the city as part of her investigation into Whistledown.

Agree, I find Eloise overly naive and stuffed of hot air.

Finally someone said it. I can’t stand Eloise, but I love Pen. Eloise sarcasm and disdain for the society she belongs too it’s entirely too exaggerated and somehow hypocritical. Penelope is very different, she’s a very intelligent and sensible woman, who has discovered a way to express herself through writing and sustain a succesful business. The way Eloise insulted Pen at the end of the season was very unfair. Penelope indeed did all the things she did to save Eloise and even save Colin from certain marriage. And Eloise told her that Pen was selfish? She’s the worst. I’m not interested in watching her season

There’s a theory that they may both move Colin and Pen to S3 or have Eloise and Benedict’s storyline occur at the same time. All I really want is that Netflix lets us get to Francesca’s story.

@@jjh2456 I was just pointing out to the person since they said people would riot due to the Cinderella story line, that he could be still be bi without the storyline changing too much from the original premise. I feel like people forget that bi men can still date women and that bi women can still date men and that dating the opposite gender wouldn’t change that they’re bi. I completely agree though, A Cinderella-esque story line with a man would be cool because there are so many different Cinderella reiterations, that it would be refreshing to see. I really hope Benedict and/or Eloise get an lgbtq+ storyline because 8 siblings all being fully straight has to be statistically incorrect even with sheer amount of heteronormativity of that time 😭
