This is brilliant, and to all the haters of point fighting, we don't care. Go do your MMA or Muy Thai somewhere else. Point fighting is a sport just like basket ball or soccer. It takes tremendous skill, athleticism, and mental control. It is a valid sport and I don't care if it's not street fighting. My whole life doesn't revolve around some street fight that will never happen. And lot's of great full contact kickboxers were point fighters first like world champions, Bill Superfoot Wallace, and Raymond Daniels and many more. You can point fight your whole life and not destroy thousands of brain cells every day. You think full contact fighting is good for your brain? Google Daniel Amen and find out just how bad it is for your brain. You want dementia? Enjoy your cage fight. I'm proud to be a point fighter!
this kind of sports give you awesome reflexes, strategy, understanding, angles, precision,....I think a kickboxer or mma who has done point fighting will be always more complete than one who didn´t...same way a point fighter who also did boxing, kixkboxing, muay thai etc. will be a more complete fighter than one who didn´t. Take the good things of everything and stop stupid criticism. Also if you are going into a cage or ring to compete for lots of years you better be sure you are very good, cause your brain is not gonna thank you the blows to the head and your knees are not gona thank you all the low kicks you don´t have any idea how to block or avoid...
also precisly this, i think, is needed in mma and kickboxing right now: movement, fighting backwards, reaction and definitory strikes. Lots of good mma fighters did similar sports at the beggining, like karate or taekwondo. Learn from all and use your brain people
