Hey folks, I've made a new site for finding car parts and sharing car photos. It features a detailed search that helps you visualise your car with specific mods on it. Please if you can support the site by signing up, adding your car, and adding your photos! Here is a demo video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CzrnovPRtOI.html the site is www.viaaurellia.com
@@mauricemartinez5311 Got mine as a second car after I totaled my camry on a bridge (spun in circles and hit every side of my car with concrete barriers, not fun). After only two days of driving it, it’s much better than the camry with handling and suspension (2012 is250 vs 2018 camry se), and the inside is considered luxury. amazing cars.
@@hunter3836 sorry to hear that glad your ok man , it handles so well and what I love the most about it is I never get tired of driving after long periods of time it’s so comfortable and the interior is amazing
Great video! This car is a horse! I bought one also, have it on the channel, apparently is the CHEAPEST Lexus Is250 in the World. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pBbkRaVmU34.html
Good job, man. You found features that no one else did. I've had this car for almost a year, and it's wonderful. Still learning about it. AND good taste in music!
Just got a 2013 350 F sport I'm beyond happy and this video is amazingly informative on all the features it comes with! Thanks for making me even more confident and happy with my choice of car 🤙🏻
A very nice video on this car, very informative as the trim levels shown with the features. Great to see another JDM RHD IS350 driver. I've been enjoying mine a lot. Makes me laugh when an acquaintance buys a new car and it has maybe one tenth of the features of my 16-year old IS. :-)
My is250se (South Africa) has all these features plus: Headlight washers Sunroof Heated windscreen Some sort of double lock on the doors - double tap your lock button. Centre storage compartment is cooled. Auto adjust headlights
Hey Jean, how is it holding up? I am looking to get IS250 in Joburg but I don't see them alot and difficult to find one with 120-150K. Is there parts here?
I've been looking more and more in to the IS250 and always saw it as a good design but never knew that Lexus was this much ahead of time and made this car so great. I have my eyes on a BMW E60 525i which is my budget dream car but currently owning a BMW, some can require high maintenance and finding one in my spec that I want is difficult... this might even top the Bimmer on my to be next car. This was a very detailed review and only made me be more impressed by that IS.
Good day Sammy Goris, thanks for making this video.. it's extremely useful for people who owned this wonderful piece of engineering and thanks for you excellent explainations on these rare builds.. it's already 2022 and I can't believe this beauty can still easily nailed down the roads.. fyi 4IS front bumper is killing off the roads again!!! cheers my friend and stay safe with your 2IS.. 😜🤘🤘
@@sammygoris not yet but soon, I’m figuring out wt the upgrade Mark Levinsons sound system for my car, sadly my car is premium Japan model exactly like yours just except for ML stereo system..
09/10 is the best version of the 2IS IMO.. You get the redesigned seat backs with scoops for extra leg room at the back in 09, better NAV screen and tweaked ML audio in 09, plus it still has passenger seat memory which was removed in 2011 and AFS which was removed in 2012.
I saw an 08 model being sold that just had 85k miles & it was sold within 2 hours at the dealership 😭 over 23 people under 1 hr had called about seeing and buying the car but it was whoever was first can purchase it
It can get confusing. If you're interested in searching for this car to search for is 250 sports package or F Sport package? I think they were made from 2007 to 2012 and they all came with Alcantara leather seats?
F SPORT only came out in the 2010/2011+ IS models. Prior to that, it's just a sports package. 2nd gen first model year is 06 (production models first came out in 05), first facelift is 08, second facelift 2010.
@@sammygoris : so if you're going to search for one you just search 2006 to 2010 IS250 with sports package? Did the IS250 sports package all come with Alcantara seats? Someone told me that's the way to identify the car
It depends on your regional spec, so remember this is JDM-spec. I had a sport model first, and bought the luxury because the sport didn’t come with many of these features as you say.
There a compartment on my 2012 is350 fsport on the backside of the center console. What is that for? It has enough room to fit 1 cigarette and regular size chapstick
i love the 75 music album of full spectrum Japanese from classical to gangster rap on the Hard-drive. Thank you Japanese Sir. you seen gold badges from factory?
Great video, thanks a lot mate! I want to buy a loaded is250 as my first car in a month, been dreaming of it for a long time. Can you please tell if the ride is rough and is it possible to stream music via Bluetooth?
Hey there! Thanks for your comment. The luxury models have a softer suspension whilst the sports model does have a stiffer suspension. Personally I didn’t find there is a huge difference, it probably comes down to what profile tyres and wheels you are running. In my setup I currently have 19” wheels on the luxury model and it rides very smoothly. The prefacelift models (05-08) can only do Bluetooth calling, I believe facelift models (09+) do Bluetooth calling and music.
Yeah it’s pretty cool - well I have it on my NZ Spec CT 200h and Aussie Spec 2013 IS 250 F SPORT, so I don’t think it’s exclusive to just JDM? From what I’ve seen the USDM Models just lack some of the basic features , so wouldn’t be surprised if it’s just a USDM thing
My car doesn’t have a lot of those features. I don’t have memory anything, no sunshade, no power tilt or telescopic steering wheel and no parking sensors. I don’t have that park assist either. I do have 14 speakers but it’s not the Levinson system. No light up Lexus stuff where you step in at either. No abortion tools in the back, I know you mentioned clothes hangers. I guess what’s standard on the Japanese vs American models is a big difference. I do have the exact same wheels you have and they are 18 inches. Mine is a 2010
Yeah that’s such a shame aye. don’t know why they make you pick one or the other. Not sure about Infiniti in the US, but here you can pick either the Type S (sports) or Type P (premium) or Type SP (Sports and Premium). Which is better because you can get both! Not so with Lexus though, beats me...
The main way is to look at the centre area below the touchscreen, it should have the Mark Levinson logo there. A number of other ways to tell too, but you can definitely notice the centre channel speaking in the ML units, whereas the centre channel speaking in non-ML is used for GPS guidance only, not for music.
@@sammygoris okay thanks for the reply! The ML is a main package I'm looking for in the 2011 - 2013 is model but while shopping or even on RU-vid I'm seeing anyone with the ML
I have the luxery is250 but my windows and sunroof do not open or close with my key. Also I can not adjust my door closing mechanism... It always close and I have to press open button in the inside... Who know s why?
You may have that feature, you may not, but some features have to be enabled via OBDII tools. You can buy a tool yourself or go to a dealership to do it
Hey Alex, it’s a regional difference. I believe US and lots of other pasts of the world don’t have the reverse trajectory lines and the parallel park assist mode. The parking sensors are on some US cars though, but maybe that option is not fitted to your car.
I don't understand what I'm missing :L My car has luxury package (heated/ventilated seats), but my steering wheel does not auto adjust into place... Just bought the car and I love it but I wish that feature worked on mine :/
Hey Moses, you need to have the electronic tilt and telescopic steering wheel. I think that is part of the memory seats. If you don’t have memory seats I don’t think you’ll have that, do you have memory seatsv
I've got an 09' model with the backup camera, but for some reason I don't have the grid lines, and definitely not the parking one. Do you know how to activate that or was that standard in yours?
Hey Dennis - This is one of those things that I will never understand - I believe the US models did not get that feature. Have no rational idea as to why they would do that!
My bad mixed up your review with the one done by NZ motors he also has a right hand drive is 350 also white like yours ..... not wiithstanding nice reviews 👍..... u still didnt mention where i can get the front bumper lip ..... can i get it online ?
Eddie Lo hey man! I’m not sure. It could be but it wouldn’t be by a lot. It’s a bit stiffer but unsure about different in ride height - even if there is its pretty minor
You’re right! It is a different IS. I’ve had 1 IS 250, the 350 had in 2016 and then bought this one a couple of years ago. The other one was a sports model, so has less features than luxury model. Good spotting!
how do you cycle between all that dash cluster info?? like fuel milage and gear selector?? mine is just on air temp and i havnt figured out how to cycle it to other stuff?
Can I order a JDM model Nav system and install it on my Lexus and it will work the same? I want the reverse camera features like the guidelines and assist parking
Hey there I'm not sure to be honest I'm sorry! The Japanese software has a lot of other little tiny things in it that are different to other specs, but I do know some people can replace their Japanese head unit with an AUS/NZ unit and that has worked I believe.
Hi I just got one and I no nothing or how to use the radio. My navigator has is a blank screen. No local map as it's in japanese. Please sn someone help. I've called Lexus Auckland who cant help. I'm in Auckland New Zealand.
It did. I had 1 2006 IS 250 and 2 2006 IS 350’s and they all had it. Only the base models didn’t. But all dates and all engine sizes had powered steering wheel and memory seats as options.
I’m look at a 2006 Luxury Package is250 with only 60k miles and a 2007 with 100k miles and a sunroof the only different is the 2007 has a sunroof and more miles but it’s actually cheaper than the 2006 model.
Mine is a 2010 Lexus IS 350 but it has no memory seat, can’t open the windows with key fob, no rear shades, the side windows don’t face downward when in reverse
Some of those might be able to be changed with an OBDII diagnostic tool. The side mirrors have to be set to either L or R for it to go in reverse. Not sure if you tried that?
Please sir, am confused to make a choice between IS 250 2015 model and IS 350 2015 model. I love the two cars but am afraid of fuel economy of these cars and confused on which one to go for as i don't know the one that retain more fuel or rather the one that is preferable. I'm not concerned about speed cos am not going into racing championship. Am concerned about fuel economy and car maintenance. I really don't know which one to go for cos am considering my pocket in buying fuel. I don't need the F sport model. Please i need an honest answer on which one to go for 🙏🙏
Hi Sammy from Christchurch, fantastic review. Looking closely at the IS350 as a future purchase, is it possible to change the different language to English ?
Hey mate! Lovely Christchurch aye. Thanks for your comment. Yes it is possible to change it to English. You can change the headunit to English, there are a couple of places in NZ that do it. Costs roughly $400-600 or so. Some incl NZ maps, some don’t. I opted to get the GROM VLine, I have done some videos on that if you’re interested. The gauge cluster can either be converted to English (but wil only go to 180kph), or you can buy an NZ new one from the wreckers and correct the odometer to your actual kms. All the best with your IS shopping!

@@faseehirfan6028 thank you, I figured out that the previous owner most likely turned the feature off at the dealership since it’s an option to turn it off, but its free to change when you take the car to the dealership for maintance for anyone else having the same issue
Evan Verdoorn hey Evan, the Japanese models were speed limiter (and on gauge cluster) to 180kph. I’m actually in the process of changing it to an NZ Custer which would bring it up to the standard 240.
Kushiva good question - I’m not sure to be honest! I don’t know if the Japanese models came in manual, or at least if they did they are very rare. I know the NZ models did come in manual but many NZ models don’t have the touchscreen.
@@sammygoris thanks, actually the manual is more important to me than a touch screen - also I can just buy another Maine unit, with bigger and better screen than a stock one
No way! Can’t believe it. The features are important as it makes the car seem modern and fancy, but then you find the exact same car in base model with no features and it feels Cheaped out! At least yours the nicer bumper etc..
