Interesting! I was surprised to see such a large machine for just a small apartment building elevator. I’m assuming 57 machines were made at the same time as the 18/28/38 machines?
Quite an interesting floor selector vertical array in the controller, yes those are floor relays on each side of the floor selector. The geared DC traction machine is quite large. Find it odd, the controller voltage is 240V I would expect it be higher in the 440-480V range since the data plate on the MG set indicated the AC motor was for 240/480.The DC hoist motor is drawing more current at the lower voltage.
Looks like an early 1960s vintage installation. Also, the leveling seems to take a long time. However, Westinghouse controllers can be adjusted for a quicker floor to floor and leveling time.
