Depending on the the of landscape lighting transformer you are using, you will typically have to choose between an info timer for transformers that have space inside for a plug in timer or you will need to use an outdoor timer and plug the transformer into the timer itself.
Intermatic makes both versions of timer with an astronomical feature allowing you to set your location and take of vantage of dusk or dawn on and off times.
