This is an Intermatic 6 hour timer, and I use it to set the runtime for my All American Autoclave. The reason I think this is a mandatory piece of equipment is because it's easy to forget that an autoclave is running, and it's not good to leave them running for too many hours, especially if it's unsupervised.

This has happened to me on more than one occasion. I’ve been looking for something like this! How do I got about making the box/wiring it though?

This is essential and i’m glad you shared. With this timer, do you still have to wait for your autoclave to get up to pressure before starting the timer?

No, but you do need to remember to vent the dry air out of the autoclave once it's at heat. These small autoclaves do not have this function.

@@OakandSpore is this what they call burping the autoclave? How much psi do you build up to vent out the dry air?

@@luisrobles386 i build to 10psi, vent to 1-2psi ish and then close it up. For me i run on about setting 6.5 with 36lbs of grain or sub loaded. essentially i flip it on, wait 1.5 hours, vent to 0, and then set a 3.5 hour timer. in about 1 hour ill be back to sterile pressures, and then i need it to run for 2.5 hours. easy. i use a 240v timer from amazon, but ill probably build one of these things. because my timer will turn on every 24 hours if i forget to unplug.
