I subscribed due to the guest Dr Zoe Memel. I appreciated the view that dietary changes best work when tailored to an individual's lifestyle. I also was happy to hear a doctor say yeah this area we don't really know. yet. I hope this is an indication of the type of content you regularly have.

I am 72, 6 feet tall and last week I weighed 265 lbs. and have a history of fatty liver. I have been on the OMAD for just a week. Very encouraging results with 10 pounds lost and my blood sugar levels below 100 for the las five days. I am scheduled for my 6 month liver scan and I'll be glad to have a base line for the fatty liver. I am on a 6 month schedule so in June I expect no more fatty liver. I am tolerating the OMAD quit well and expect to continue until I am a normal BMI. I enjoyed to video and am encouraged that you both employ I F.

I'm on day 10, and I've been fasting for 9 years. I'm going to do 14 days and I have never consulted a physician. I just listen to my body and it tells me when it's time to quit if I cannot reach my goal. I normally take a multivitamin, LMNT packages that contain sodium, magnesium, and potassium, and drink green tea in the morning and then Chamomile tea and plenty of water. Your body doesn't lie to you, so you need to listen to it when the time comes.

I am 63 and have done over 25 , 36+ hour fasts in a little over a year. I find the best results with water as the only drink. I have done some with diet soda and artificially sweetened coffee and the results are not as good as the water only. I also take minerals and pink salt. I have lost 25 lbs and still need to lose more, but I suspect my fatty liver has been reduced if not fixed, since you and others have said the liver fat burns off first.

A keto diet makes intermittent fasting really easy because you are already in fat burning mode. I can do 20/4 everyday with no problem. I could even do one meal a day.

I agree. I did the Carnivore Diet for like 6 weeks last year and after a week, my body was fat adapted and I literally only at one meal per day. I had so much energy and my mental clarity was off the charts! I lost close to 10 lbs in that time. A lot of it seemed like water weight because my face and neck was no longer puffy. For me, Carnivore was hard to maintain long-term. I recently started trying to eat strictly keto/low carb, but I don't eat a lot of carbs most days anyway, although I tend to binge eat carbs on occasion. I recently got a CT scan and was told I have a fatty liver. I was shocked since I tend to eat better than most people I know. I do need to drink more water and be more active though. I'm glad I have the scan results to compare to in the future.

Thank you for this interesting video. I would underline easing into intermittent fasting, whilst as a Muslim I'm used to dry fasting for up to 18 hours a day if Ramadan falls in the summer, people need to climb onto this wagon the best way they can. It took me less than a week to get to 16:8 and in two weeks I was trying 20:4, I seem to have settled somewhere about 19:5 and that's fine. I throw in an occasional 43 or 67 hour fast maybe once a quarter and have found that if I drink water, together with water with a teaspoon of "half salt" or "low salt" (sodium chloride and potassium chloride mixed 50:50), water with teaspoonful of apple cider vinegar, unsweetened green tea and unsweetened black coffee, it makes life easier than just water

Indeed, I used to fast with only water (without electrolytes). There is a risk that you feel fatigued, light headache, etc. I found out it is best to use only electrolytes drinks (no junk sugary electrolytes drinks) while I am in a longer fasted period. We excrete all of our electrolytes from peeing and sweating.

@doublecheck7099
@doublecheck7099 Год назад
@@endofdayzfitnessu.k2126 I only take one time per day. Obviously, it all depends on how much you sweat and pee throughout the day. I used to fast every single day. (Classical 16:8) Currently, I fast once a week, since I am targeting to gain lean muscle mass. Whenever I want to "clean up" my body from toxins and dead protein cells, I fast for 48hours or longer once a year. I hope this helps. If you have any further questions feel free to contact me :)

@JoshuaTrenge electrolytes are the key to prolonged water fasting.
@TheKucapaca
@TheKucapaca 9 месяцев назад
@@jorgegamboa3621 Exactly, right now I'm on day 9, taking salt, potassium, magnesium&msm and zinc and it feels really comfortable. As a side effect, I am enormously productive and my brain feels just great, so easy to focus. Moreover, my inability to sleep longer than 6 hours a day changed to fabulous 8 hours effortlessly while having pleasant, peaceful dreams. Recommend to everyone once a year or two, or at least when the belly needs to be burned - it's cca 350 grams of pure fat a day beyond the introductory 3-4 unpleasant days with extreme hunger when some muscles are being turned into sugar. My longest water fast was 24 days after which a sudden hunger came, but now I hope to do 42 days if lucky due to the amount of fat I need to burn this time, after 6 years from my latest water fast. First time that I have a set goal and it might help me to go longer than usually.

Can you do intermittent fasting if you don’t have the gall bladder? I’m thinking of what would happen with the bile flow?

I started doing an 18/6 IF and I had my gallbladder removed 2 years ago so far I've only seen benefits although might be different for you it'd be best to talk to your doctor
@JD-fx1np
@JD-fx1np 9 месяцев назад
You already fast when sleeping. If you stop eating at 9pm and eat again at 9am, that's already 12 hours. What do you thinks gonna happen if you skip breakfast and eat at say, 1pm? IF is generally about a 16hr fast. Gall bladders store bile. But feel free to consult with your doc if you plan to do extended fasting over 16hrs

Agree with most of this - her comments on ketosis seem unwarranted. Not sure what shes referring to. Mild to moderate nutritional ketosis is not dangerous. Keep up your sodium and electrolytes. Ive not ever seen a link to kidney stones. Please cite study. No, no, ketoacidosis is NOT NOT NOT ketosis. Im sure youre very smart and educated but you do not know what ketosis means. Please learn.
@josuedominguez5128
@josuedominguez5128 9 месяцев назад
How is she wrong? If a diabetic fasts, that person can go into ketoacidosis, so she’s right. Your body needs insulin to get ketones into cells as well, so having ketones built up in your bloodstream can definitely lead to acidosis. Please do your research before posting misleading information on here.
