Great instructions. I would of diagnosed the issue first to isolate a bad low pressure pump issue, instead of informing how to tell if a bad pump at the end. Someone checking this out of of start tearing into it just to find out the issue is not the lift pump but may be from a bad icp.

I'm working on one now have any suggestions. My primer is shot and it only runs on starting fluid . Icp showing 350 is 384 peak during crank I know it needs like 870. But is it the high pressure pump or am I missing something. I tried to prime at bowl and the strainer .
It sounds like the ICP Sensor. Even with a worn primer. You can still prime it by taking off the cap. And fill it with fuel and place filter in housing. Most worn primer will prime fuel at the top. From what you have said, I would say ICP Sensor.

I didn't get any electrical codes from scanner so I was thinking pump, cause it will run off starting fluid. And I saw the sensor reading via live data when I was cranking . I personally never had many problems with Maxxforce. But the original DT466 is hard to beat. The only problem that I had with the original DT466 is the Piston Liners. But with 50/50 Shell Rotella Antifreeze. That eliminated that problem.
I have a 2014 maxxforce but stick shift and having this same issue, even it its stick shift still has a lift pump? I replaced fuel filters and prime it like i always do and now truck wont start
My 2012 Max force started falling on it's face. I stopped turn truck off. Started it back up and ran like a champ. But started doing it more and more. I got to just reaching down to the key turn it off and right back on and good to go. Then it just fell on it face again and the turning the key didn't work anymore. Barely got home. Did a few things. Now it won't even start, even sprayed with starting fluid. Didn't even hit once. Im guessing high pressure fuel pump 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️?? What do you think ?? Thank you 👍
Wow, that's a good guess. But a expensive guess. Have a diagnostic done to it before you buy anything. It cause just be something as simple as a Sensor.
hey budy I have a friend with a prostart truck with the maxxforce 13 engine in it, the problem that he has it turns on but it wont stay on it turns off right after, runs about a 5 secons or so and it turns right off , no problems on staring up it just turns off after it turns on any help on what could be the problem making it turning off ?
It sounds like a Sensor is telling the ECM not to let the Engine run.That could be a number of things. Have your Friend to have a diagnostic test even if they have to spend $150 - $200. I hate to say it. Sometime we have to spend a little money to save alot of money.
Hello My lift pump is pumping fine but my cranking psi is 3. My fuel is running right out to return line 2013 Maxxforce dt. I opened filter top to check and pub is pump fuel in but I runs right back out to return??? Any help would help thanks
It could be a number of things such as bad fuel filter, air in fuel system. Make sure that your grommets (seals) on the end of the fuel line connector are not worn-out.
You maybe getting air in the system.That will cause it to drain back. Check the grommets on the end of your lines for wear. Make sure your lines are not loose.
The Lift Pump is on the left side (driver side) of the Engine. If you look at the Fuel Filter Housing. It will be about 12in towards the front of the Engine.
