Dallas Temple is a dangerous place, aside from other threats made to me one in particular the restaurant manger has thugs that approached me telling me not to return to the temple or else. Rolled up in a car, approached me, threatened me, Incredible nonsense.
It's not a cause for taking justice into their own hands and murdering someone. Actually I know the devotee who's father was killed. It was not rape. It was consensual sex. It was infidelity for sure. But no cause for murder. Just get the police involved. Otherwise you are proving the point of this entire interview. The Hare Krishna devotees believe that an "aggressor" can justifiably be murdered. One of the "aggressors" is someone who steels another's wife. So according to Hare Krishna philosophy, then sure, the murder was justified. But according to modern civilized law, you cannot do such things. In this way the murder was an act of deranged devotion. And it is a lesson to us all. Modern society is not evil. We have a police force for a reason. Call the police next time rather than grabbing a gun.
For Srila Prabhupada's sake please Stop publicising such hateful misleading, cunningly edited/opinionated things, these things will only take people away from god, away from krishna consciousness, breaking/weakening their faith and blocking their vision of highly scientific understanding of this divine movement and it's importance and dire need in everysingle person's life.
No way! I was a devotee for 9 years. I was super dedicated. Do you know why I left?.... because I found out that all this stuff had been kept secret from me. If the devotees in ISKCON had just talked about these things and discussed them openly I would have respected them for their honesty and transparency. But because the devotees pushed it all under the rug, I felt lied to. There are many things that the devotees don't like to discuss openly. But the only way that these same mistakes won't be made in the future is by discussing them and learning from them. My Guru was at New Vrndavana when all this happened. He never told me anything about any of it. I felt lied to when I found out all the details that had been kept from me. I lost faith in my Guru for hiding all this stuff. He might have simply hid it so that the preaching can go on without hinderance. But at the end of the day, it was still an act of duplicity, and I honestly can't get past it. He even told me to "stay off the internet because there are envious people writing envious things". This is why I never learned about any of it for the 9 years that I was practicing... I faithfully stayed off the internet, following my Guru's instruction. But sooner or later the truth has to come out. A friend of mine who left ISKCON showed me a small retro news clip of my Guru defending Kirtanananda Swami to the media. It shocked me to my core. Here was the man who I trusted with my very soul and salvation defending the pedophile and murderer Kirtanananda Swami on a news television show! So to be frank, I personally applaud these people for this interview and bringing this all to light for the world to see. It is also super important to acknowledge the suffering of all the kids that were raped and abused in the Gurukula schools. Hiding these things is an insult to the children who suffered so much. The kids are devotees too. Best not to offend them by hiding the damage done to them at the hands of these nasty people who ran the Gurukula schools. Anyone who rapes, abuses or kills devotees is not a devotee, but rather a demon in disguise.
