I don't like a lot of his films, but I really respect him. He does his own things, good or bad, sane or insane, and I love that. Plus, he just genuinely seems like a great guy.
Agree I think he set the bar so high with the Sixth Sense like that movie literally shifted the culture back in the nineties it was so explosive and pretty much influenced every movie after that one that when he did subsequent movies they all kinda flat except for Signs which I liked but I heard that got mixed reviews for me he is hit or miss but when he hits he like really hits
A master of our times, what his movies do for spiritual transformation is revolutionary, I believe that never has anyone achieved what he's achieved in connecting souls. Deepest gratitude
Shyamalan “The world pounds you down” (19:00 min). To make you humble. The people who have never faced challenges are stuck up and assholes. Or deliberately decide to forget that they too have struggled and decide now they will step on you and look down at you. Don’t ever let anyone make you feel worthless and powerless. It’s always people with Tenacity and perseverance that end up like Shyamalan, extremely successful.
Wow I never knew he was so passionate about the education system and the achievement gap. It’s literally kept me up nights because I stress about how a failing education system in America robs so many talented and gifted children of a full and productive future. It’s a cliche but the children of today are really the leaders of tomorrow. We can all do better if we try.
Shyamalan is clearly a genius filmmaker... I personally feel that he gets the flak because many r jealous of him and also because he's Indian by origin... I would like to see another filmmaker hv the kind of portfolio he does, barring maybe Spielberg, Tarantino, Scorcese and Nolan...
Its because he set the bar so high with Sixth Sense and even someone who is a casual fan of his he misses the mark with a lot of his movies but I can say when he hits really hits its just some of the stuff compared to the Sixth Sense look mid I dis enjoy Signs did not like Unbreakable but when he hits he really hits
He makes good and bad films. But he does not make boring films. He takes risks. It's worth the ticket price just to see where he goes. Current hollywood of man-child-super hero movies are BORING same BS over and over.
@Nilarnab R7671 Yeah The Village is my favorite too. Of all auteur movie directors Shyamalan may have the most uneven oeuvre (a couple of his movies I think are really bad), but I have to say I find that quite fascinating.
😂 Just love him 😍 he is so clever and it shows in his movies, HE has a gift from God, Awesome person, Master 👏 number one for me, in my childhood his movies was for me so beautiful, touching and mysterious, just unbelieveble perfect. But now even more i Always found something new there, thank you ❤️
@@morphkogan8627 He's really good, he just needs to focus on writing an original screenplay. No series or producer/studio/big budget heavy involvement stuff.
It was nice working with you for those twenty six years. Hopefully that two hundred million will help you out with making the movies you actually want to create. - Chelsea and Chelly
He's so right you need energy and when I say energy a lot of energy to pull off something like a film might vary from people to people but generally speaking it takes a lot of energy
I like all his movies. Actually my least favorites are "The Visit" and "The happening" My all time favorites are Signs and The Village. Maaaan I surely love the deep themes of those movies.
The visit was plain silly. I think M.night stepped into bad taste there. His first four breakthrough films are the best. Sixth sense, unbreakable, signs and village. Devil isnt too bad either. Split is ok, looking forward to Glass.
@ninjaturtlemaster24 Yeah, The Visit was dumb. Quite some people actually called it M Night's return to form while in actuality it was his forth bad movie in a row. I do appreciate how he financed it himself, taking somewhat of a risk, and using the earnings to go and finance Split. Split was his actual 'return to form', if you will.
He’s a decent director but the only major problem I have with him is that he completely destroyed the entire Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise with his live action movie. I still can’t understand how he was still able to keep his career after that tragedy.
Shyamalan is very similar to Zack Snyder. They both have their own individual original way of filmmaking and storytelling and both get around equal amount of both hate and love, though Shyamalan has made more shitty movies.
Loan on his house ?? When his net worth is $80 million ........makes no sense ,. No way he needed a loan .... He made it sound like he had no money .... Just an ordinary guy needing a loan ....kinda pathetic
