I saw Jared interview and tour of the Rice Museum but this was a more indepth interview and tour, and covered areas of the museum that Jareds didn't cover! That is such a wonderful museum, started by two remarkable people, and it's now in the care of people who loving tend and care for it as much as the Rices did. I can't wait to get there again myself! It has been so very many years since I've seen it. And for one who lives in Portland, that's just shameful! But I'm waiting until my best friend can go there with me. Hopefully soon. Thank you Patrick for spotlighting this gem of the PNW! It was awesome!❤

Excellent video, Patrick!! I really enjoyed this format. It was put together very well. You asked great questions and she was delightful to listen to. Honestly, had this video not been done as well and wasn't as interesting I obviously wouldn't have watched it in entirety. She is quite knowledgeable. I enjoyed most hearing her talk about thundereggs and about labeling things and just her general knowledge of things and telling stories. I loved seeing all the rhodochrosite. I prefer to see labeling by chemistry for minerals in a museum. It is also great to see specialized collections be it thundereggs or petwood or datolite or say minerals of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. I will definitely put this museum on my list. Excellent displays. Oh, the rock pile outside was so cool and a great idea! Thank you for taking the time you put into making this video to share with the rockhounding community.

@ 45:40 the camera pans across petrified wood in the fireplace was not mentioned . I know you can't see everything in a museum , however that is an awesome detail that I'm not sure was caught or if anyone observed ??? Be truthful , how many ppl noticed it folks ??? Pretty cool detail eh?

Even cooler than just being petrified wood! The pieces on the fireplace were brought by friends and acquaintances of the Rice's, who wanted people to bring their favorite rocks to include in their home decor!
