Dude I had no idea how similar weed addiction can be for us… I would do that too, try to only smoke at night, then only in the morning and at night, and so on… *DAY 10 HERE NO WEED OR ALCOHOL GOING STRONG!*

I’m seriously so proud of you. If there’s one thing I’ve learned through this channel and through talking to other people, we really aren’t alone. So many of us have the exact same issues. Just yesterday someone was trying to make the argument that weed was not addictive and after a really good conversation, they realized that they were addicted to it they just had never tried to quit, so they did not know. But the idea of them not smoking made them incredibly anxious. I’m just really happy to be able to not only help others change their life, but to create a community that has allowed me to change my life.

@@Quittingtogether it was like your wife said…. It’s not like we could just smoke once and be good for a couple months and that once it starts it doesn’t stop. My wife put up with so much with me going back and forth on this, trying to limit myself unsuccessfully only to be fully back in my addiction. Thankfully she is a saint and God really worked on her heart and honestly she just let me go through this process without fighting me. That was one of the biggest things that helped me decide to quit. It wasn’t her FORCING me to quit. She obviously wanted me to, but in the end she let it be up to me to figure out what was most important to me. If she had fought me and forced me into quitting for “her” or for “the kids,” while those are good reasons, I would have always wondered what I might be missing out on. By allowing me to come to the end of myself with it all, it really opened my eyes to my own thoughts and actions surrounding my addiction. Idk man I’m just super thankful for her right now and I’m thankful for your channel too bc even though I have no one irl that I’m quitting with, I feel like I have you as a friend that I’m doing this with and I even sent my wife this video. Super proud of you too man. *NEVER GOING BACK.*

You have a great relationship with your wife and it’s amazing to have this openness and trust, you’re owning it! I really enjoyed this and can resonate with lots of it, I felt the last few years I got worse and worse and sneaking in smokes when previously I wouldn’t. You mentioned about smoking to relax and that’s where I’m at, I haven’t watched anything or just chilled out since stopping, I keep wondering if I’m keeping busy to not relapse or wondering whether I am a more actually a productive person, probably a bit of both. Thanks for this video, it’s a huge help Aaron

You’re welcome! And yeah I’m incredibly lucky to have her. She’s been my rock through all this. And you’re right. It’s definitely a bit of both. I have to find stuff to do to keep busy to fill the void smoking used to fill. But also, not smoking has given me so much more free time. And time to be present. I’m so glad you’re still here checking in.

@@Quittingtogether yeah man I’ll be here for as long as the content keeps coming or when I’m at peace with myself on this. I made a list of everything I have done since i stopped and NON of it would’ve got done if still getting high. This content is huge for people and really do appreciate it. I’ve not picked up my guitar since I stopped, I’m hoping when I feel in control I will resume the things I love but I have been more productive on more pressing things that I would’ve ignored. Thanks again Aaron off to bed and that’s day 14 done ✅

@@sr-no7dl I think the thing with addiction is we never truly are done with it. I’m glad you’re still here. I can’t say the same for so many others that started out with us on day one. But all I can hope for is that people are able to find the help they need and come back when they are ready.

I don’t know you, and I may never know who you are in real life, but I want you to know I care about you, and I’m very much invested in your journey. If you ever feel as though no one else is there to support you just know whenever I see you comment, I’m excited to see what you have to say.

@@Quittingtogether This means a lot man! Thank you so much and the channel allows me not to get complacent, I think I said in a previous message, the initial ‘high’ of sobriety is coming down and now it’s feeling more like normality meaning the day to day problems are getting dealt with but it’s the down time I’m trying to figure out. I respect so much your accountability on this and I have a few friends that i send voice messages too with updates, I hope to get to a point where I don’t need to talk about to it but right now it’s super important! Day 15, here we go 💪

That’s amazing though! It’s not 2 weeks late. It’s exactly the right time. Exactly the time you needed to be done. Check out some of my other videos for more tips as you’re definitely in the very beginning of it right now. You’re gonna have a tough few days but I promise it will get better. I’m really proud of you for making that decision and thank you for stopping by! Please keep me updated with your progress.

My motto the first few days was “embrace the suck” and maybe that can help you somehow. Find a way to fight through when you feel the worst… for me it was prayer and video games lol

@cameronmueller
@cameronmueller 7 месяцев назад
It feels great. My memory has improved a lot and I find memories to be more meaningful now. As for the biggest challenge is has to be not falling into smoking when everything is going right and I think I can just have one hit or one night of smoking, I know I would continue as I have a very addictive personality and need to not fall into that mind trap. @@Quittingtogether

Day 15 for me. Had an urge yesterday but it passed quickly. Nothing hard yet. But that will probably change. How are you doing?
@Quittingtogether
@Quittingtogether 7 месяцев назад
That’s incredible! I’m on day 15 as well. I’m excited because right now is what I call the EZ zone. I’ve made it long enough that I don’t want to break it and that will last with me for a long time. Last time though, as soon as I hit six months, that’s when I broke And it all went downhill right away. I honestly haven’t really had the urge at all but that’s because I have not been around it at all. And also I told my parents and everything because I’m really confident about wanting to succeed this time.
