INTJs aren't the masterminds they think they are. Until they do these 2 things...
INTJs, as they're called in the 16 personalities of Myers Briggs, often feel so misunderstood which tends to come with high levels of shame and pride. For them to really be the geniuses they'd like to be and reach their potential, it's imperative that they 1. get out into the world and 2. are attractive to other people while doing it.
For this reason, INTJ personality types need to develop their extroverted thinking and extroverted sensing cognitive functions.
I also mention a couple facts specific to INTJ females.

@@AlexisKingsley Have you wondered; if you're ENTJ? I'm an INTJ male, and I love my Fi child. The hero and the child play together, remember-and are the first two functions to be developed, before the parent. Ni-Fi is also our natural loop, which is also why we're the third type most prone to limerence, behind only INFJ and INFP. Yeah, I totally get limerent: if I really like a girl, and there's always something missing for me if it's not there. ENTJ would have Te hero, and Fi inferior. I mean, it's still in your stack-so you're an Fi user, and you're relatively strong with it compared to many others-because it's in your ego: but your relationship with it is totally different from mine. I love my Fi, I would play with it all the time if I let it [it wastes time, which is what I hate about it-but so does Ni]. Ni consumes time, like the Space Shuttle consumes fuel. I think your Te efficiency council would have a hard time incurring the kind of costs my hero Ni entails. Se would also have a problem with that [I'm Se inferior, so it's complaints are...duly noted]. Also, a friend of my dad's I met over the weekend: I typed him as ENTJ. He was very similar to me-I could see that, but was more extroverted-and there was also a ruthlessness about him that was more suppressed in me. I mean, I have it too. But our deciders are both relatively well balanced, thinking and feeling. So INTJ are also described sometimes as [yes] even the kindest type. Of course, anyone can be kind, the point here I guess is; no one would describe ENTJ as the KINDEST. Still kind...but not THE kindest-there's a difference there. The basic reason I would say, is the basic driving force: I seek out chances to play with my Fi child; if none exist, or even if they do or don't: I make excuses to be kind as an example. I feed the birds 4 evenings a week-because it gives me an excuse to be in my true nature, where I walk, in my Ni-and play with my Fi. I still have this same ruthlessness [Ti critic-doesn't get much more cynical than that], and INTJ are most frequently portrayed as the bad guys in cinema-I get it. But ENTJ, are the true CEO type. INTJ is described as both David Bowie [I agree-Roger Waters from Pink Floyd too for sure] and the CEO type [I also agree-with a caveat]. INTJs are leaders-but we don't want to lead. ENTJs do, so they're the true CEO/Commander type. I just think you may have mistyped yourself, or that that might be a possibility, is all. Kindest regards Z Edit, o.k o.k; you're possibly INTJ. There are different enneagrams as well. However you spell that. I 'dunno, you just sound more efficient than me. I mean, I bet any amount of anything; your Se's stronger than mine. I also have very Ni hobbies; such as building model warships to museam standards-that's 300hrs per build, do karate and naturalistic oil paintings-it took me thirty yrs to teach myself how to do that. The others, require both 10 000hrs AND ten yrs in order to become proficient. It's increadibly inefficient getting there though. I mean, how do you work hard at something [even with every desire and intention in the world]...if you don't know how to do it??? That's the problem with long term creative problems-that only Ni can ultimately solve. To me, that's what I am; INTJ. That's what hero Ni entails. But anyway, that's just my experience. I thought your...persona became softer as you went on, then I thought "INTJ, maybe". I also want to just think all the time; more than anything. Loathing, hate, disgust, malice, good and evil, morality and love are all the same function: Fi. But I mean, any Fi-user will be able to instantly flick between love and disgust [harsh moral judgement-at least if an extroverted Judger], like a frequency-agile radar can flick between frequencies.

Right! So different from the other women in my family and had to contend so many times with whether I’m a bad person for not having a baby at 30, loving to be alone or with similar ppl, not needing so many social affirmations in discussions and being extremely unafraid to say what I truly think BECAUSE I care and tend to seriously consider just about anything… It’s so wonderful to have stumbled upon this channel and find people who don’t make me feel like such an exception in a bad way. 😮‍💨 Edit: I have been notoriously ruthless as a child while leading groups from earlier than first grade Perhaps I’m just an entj in an unbalanced place?

As an INTJ male, I actually found this very useful. I got stuck in the Ni-Fi loop for years with no idea how to get out of it. I have noticed that I feel much better when I do real things in the real world, such as traveling or managing a project. It’s also interesting that INTJ females seem to be more successful on RU-vid than INTJ males. I wonder if it’s because it’s easier for the women to adjust their personality...

Totally agree - feel better during project management! I think part of female INTJs being successful is that (in my opinion) female thinkers and male feelers have had to learn to blend more, and are forced to be more balanced by cultural standards.

Hey! INTJ lady-type person here! This was a fantastic breakdown and articulation of the personality type! I've been subjected to a barrage of tests since I was a kid, and I have consistently tested as INTJ (or the battery's equivalent) my whole life - and even am adjudged by others to be INTJ (sometimes ENTJ) when workplaces have done the assessments that ask you to assign personality "stuff" to team colleagues. I've also worked in the education / training / personal development space for almost my entire career, and I tend to be real skeptical about the value of personality inventories. But your assessment was really helpful! I also want to add that I think some of tend to have some of the discoveries and coping / compensation mechanisms trained into us by parents or our environment. My mom is an ENFP, and she trotted me out like a trick pony and sort of forced me to learn how to be more bubbly and such when it was necessary. I don't seek the spotlight, but I am comfortable there as a result. Also, I think that while you're right about the slow decision-making and analysis, we can seem to make snap decisions because we often sort of run thinking about stuff on a subroutine without talking about it, and then "jump" to a conclusion when the data comes back in an internally tangible way. In any case - thank you for the video and your perspective!

You have literally called me out for being on crack with Fi to a point of severely weakening my Te. It was even harder due to the pandemic. My Ni-Fi is not letting me get anywhere, and I feel so bad about it. I have to realize that Te-Se baby steps are the most important in getting back on track. Thank you for the wake-up call. Stopping my Fi is the least comforting thing to do after being too deep into it, but I have to do it.

@hasgoodles7807
@hasgoodles7807 3 года назад
I’m an INFJ, professor actually, and I like INTJs because they are different from me, I enjoy the TE, because it is so interesting to me. I used to have my students take the test at the beginning of each semester. I have to disagree with the idea of FE needing to be engaged by emotions, when we are actually just quite aware of the emotional component as a source for specific behaviors, in groups and individuals. Also, we have this annoyingly obtrusive empathy, which is often misunderstood to be sympathy. It is not sympathy, it is picking up on the feelings, whatever they may be, of others, and not realizing, necessarily, that these are not our own feelings, because it seems so ludicrous. So whether we like it or not, we are privy to the feelings of others, which makes it very difficult to ignore. If you instinctively feel something, and it is so unconscious, you won’t recognize it, quite naturally it will be included in any combination of variables your brain utilizes to make decisions, quickly. The only way I knew that I was picking up on other people’s’ feelings was the look on the face of the person looking back at me, of surprise, and suspicion, enough times, I couldn’t really ignore it anymore. We assess emotions in a very logical way, as we are intending to utilize it to solve potential problems, and to relate better to human beings. We are sort of chameleons. I am suggesting you may have been utilizing your “fi” with regard to the possible misperception you may have had, regarding reading the room as “falling flat” unless you use your fi, because it might the “fi” telling you this. Having observed the dynamics of my students, for years, which I loved, I can tell you that the one blind spot of INTJs, is precisely how they assume they are perceived. People respect the hell out of you, like you, and the only reason they don’t talk to you, is because they are intimidated by your very essence. You carry yourselves with such a sense of dignity, self directedness, purpose and inner strength (and I have been telling countless INTJs this for years) which is unusually well developed. It is naturally, very difficult for you, as the intj, to assess in terms of how people perceive this. It’s very rare. They look up to you. They may not even know it consciously, but they feel it. I had such a unique perspective, as a professor, and an INFJ, to be able it observe the dynamics in the classroom, and many one on one meetings with students, in which I slyly inserted a question or two, in which I received the feedback directly from them as well. This is so common, and I wish you guys could see the power you could have to change the world, honestly, if you’d just ask an INFJ. Seriously, you are brilliant, not just iq, but you can run the world, effectively. You would just need an INFJ to be your chief of staff.
@AlexisKingsley
@AlexisKingsley 3 года назад
Wow! If that's truly how we're perceived, then I definitely have that blind spot! I'm always amazed at Ti-users' ability to make distinctions. (I'm still somewhat failing to see the difference between engaged by emotions and picking up on emotions) but I've started to just trust Ti-users when they tell me there's a difference!
@maniacallyhappy
@maniacallyhappy 3 года назад
It's absolutely going to be an INTJ's blind spot assuming how we are perceived, think about it. We run constant simulations to figure out what exactly is the logic flow map behind whatever scenario/'s that we're running based on our observation and intuitive point of references. We OBSERVE constantly... but we never really get to see the situation from the outside looking in, ALWAYS inside looking out. Inside we get to experience all the hemming and hawing and sprinting through simulations as fast as possible to derive the best outcome as soon as possible. Possibly a good example of this would be along the lines of, "People only see the success after someone, "Makes it big", but they didn't see all of the consistency, effort, time, sweat, failure after failure, and tears it took over however long of a period of a little success every day that got them there". In my head, it's just constant simulation after simulation to logic my way through to an outcome to finally have an answer I'm confident in, because I ran the sim multiple times from multiple variables and angles and the answer is still true, so I HAVE to have certainty at that point. Everyone else just see's certainty in the observed point in time. I know in my head, it doesn't have any merit anymore because that is the standard of operation that is my norm, anything less and I'm absolutely not running at 100%. I know that negative loop became really destructive for myself because whenever I produced a piece of art, no matter how much time I spent or how much effort I put in, my pieces simply weren't at the standard I want them to be at. My wife still talks me up as being a great illustrator/artist, but I became tired of doing what felt like the same thing over and over and eventually stopped drawing. My wife see's the final drawings or sketches I would throw out and she see's the drawing when I see all the errors and hundreds of thousands of pictures I've drawn trying incessantly to correct the errors that are still present before me.

She always tells me how she admires my strength and self-sufficient ways. I tell her that her magical people powers are amazing. She can walk up to a stranger just know they are suffering and within minutes be hearing their life story and hugging them while they cry!! But she also always asks me if I'm bored when I'm just fascinated and absorbing. She can't always read me, (nor does she have to) but I think she likes that too. We admire each other. Anyway, thank you for your infj way of making an intj see a new perspective of themselves and their value. 😊

Got to be a more animated and alive version of yourself to have bigger impact, example from this vid: SE

This is the best INTJ video I have ever watched. I watched a few of your videos 3 or 4 years ago and they didn't really hold my attention. I definately noticed throughout this one I kept thinking how I must have changed because I really enjoyed it and you kept me interested. The small changes you made definately made a difference!Very interesting! I am an INTJ (5w4) and this was very insightful.Thankyou:)

Can’t thank You enough for this video. been spending the last 4-5 months in a Ni Fi loop and don’t know what to do. read a lot of articles on Google and watched a lot of RU-vid videos, but This video give the clearest picture and things of what should I do and what should I develop. my Te is definitely underutilized and my Se is repressed so I do self sabotaging things. You saved my life. Thanks.

Excellent video Alexis. Thank you for putting it together. As a newbie to mbti, I'm going through the different types and thinking "I'm this", "no I'm that", and so on. I'm certain of being an INxx, but wasn't clear on the last two letters. The INTJ draws me the more I understand it, specially when listening to people who are INTJs themselves. I'm almost certain I'm one myself. Your video was extremely helpful in showing me how much I'm in my inner comfort zone, which has been my Achilles heel for most of my life, and that what precisely I need to get out of it is practicing more of the externally focused functions we have. Though I spend so much time figuring myself out and being frustrated of never getting to the bottom of it, curiously the times I was most happy was whenever I actually went out and did something physical. And whatever I did, I did it well, giving me a lot of satisfaction. Frankly speaking, it's not difficult for us to move in the physical world when we get down to it, not as much as we think. We need to be more grounded in the present external world. That's where our gifts possibly come out.

Thank you, you are very good at explaining anything about INTJs :)! And I feel something very good and interesting from you and I like it :) We are always in alfa-level when we are thinking, that is why we are "seeing trough people", but actually, we are in some kind of meditation&thinking in our own inner world, detached from outside world. It can be weird for people who not experience it or are not capable of understand it, but we know how exactly it is like :)

Definitely one of the best videos for INTJ tips, dealing with Se can be like trying to squeeze blood out of a turnip but once you push through it becomes a great ally. I spent my 20s completely immersed in Ni and it lead to a huge amount of Se problems, body started to fail, car broke down, losing friendships. Once you can manage the Se and get it scheduled there is nothing that can stop you.

I recently got on a INTJ video youtube bing and I agree most of the videos are lacking Se as you stated. Your has been by far the most pleasing visually and auditorily. It is amazing how much better people sound at 1.25 speed. I love, as I see other in the comments also, your practical examples like planning for the day the night before, joining more groups to make friends, and ect. There were actually a lot of practical take aways that I think will really help me. One suggestion visually is I have trouble reading the font you use on my phone. I think visuals are great addition its just I struggle to read them.

19:15 "Se must serve Ni", or physical actions must serve your vision. This is the answer I have been looking for many years of why I can do some things effectively and sometimes I cant. Like stick to a diet. Thank you for this insight.

I recently discovered that I am an Intj. Thank you for making this video, it’s possibly the most helpful resource I’ve found where each thing you said sparked a resounding YES from my head where I completely related. Do you plan to do Q&As in the future? I’m still figuring out how to come out of the dull loop you described and feel very uninspired by working out or starting a new project so I find myself becoming very self-deprecating. I’d love another video with how you’ve researched this loop and other strategies to develop more intrinsic conviction.

slightly embarrassing to admit, but this video made me so emotional. i felt like i've never had anyone to guide me my whole life, and always doubted and questioned myself and my reasoning for certain situations. recently realising that im an intj and being able to find videos such as this to explain why i am a certain way has helped me accept myself for who i am. im so grateful. apologies for the incoherent rambling.
